Dab on this, then attempt to build a 12k growroom

D

DHF

For a 10x21x13ft room, how big of a lung room would be needed? I have a decent extra space.
Depends on how much of said area you plan to grow in , but rule of thumb has always been lung area`s always equal to the sq ftg of all grow areas involved....in my case...

I had side by side fliprooms that had outside dimensions of 8x16 , but the enclosed areas averaged 12x30 , and the clone and pre-veg cabs only took up 10 sq ft so my lung areas were waaay overkill , but overkill`s underrated......so....

360-138=222 sq ft of pre-conditioned "perfect environment" bein pumped in and sucked out of 72 sq ft inside dimensions of the fliprooms twice per min FTW.....

Any other questions about anything other than Dabs setup , please hit me in pm so as ta not clog up the thread ....

Peace...DHF.....:ying:.....

I dont mind any and all questions, it doesnt clog anything, it helps everyone.

Just as long as its not negative bs, its all good and its not..

Little update on my steeze;

Things arent looking too good in there. The girls are starting to get hella droopy. The GSC is the worst, and the nightmares are starting to droop more and more.

As far as the strains go, the GSC seems to be the most finiky, as the Nightmare's tend to be pretty resiliant.. About half of the plants are doing okay, but none of them i would describe as perfect.

Not sure what it is..At my old spot I was running GH Lucas formula with filtered tap water. PPM 160 PH 6.8... Never had any problems, even in my less than optimal environment. Veg plants always stayed healthy, flower plants always stayed healthy..Even with the dry ass air we have up here...

Ever since i switched to jacks I've noticed my plants go through healthy spurts and shitty spurts. I keep my ppm @ 600, ph ranges between 5.5-6.2. I checked my runoff this evening ... 590ppm And 5.9ph.

Doesnt seem to be a problem there..

Could this be the humidity?? Not allowing the plants to transpire??

Overwatering? 80:20 Perlite to coco ratio in 5 gallon buckets.

I've been watering every 3 hours for 20 seconds from lights on, so 4 waterings per day. 1200 GPH pump over 18 sites. Not exactly sure what each one gets but the sprayers kick on at about the same time everywhere..within a half second...

Been going through about 50 gallons of water per day.. Seems like alot compared to my other grows, but these are big buckets, and theres alot of perlite in there....

Cant be underwatering..plants dont perk up at all after water.

Lumen shock?? Went from Veg under 1 400 watt T5 Fluro and 1 1000W MH dimmed to 50% to Flower room...But they were in there for 2 days with 6 lights on 50%, 1 day 11 lights 50% 2 days 11 Lights 75% and now 3 days i believe with 12 lights 100%...And they're huge plants, well established roots..i feel like this shouldnt be it/...?

Environment is

Day 76-79*F Humidity 20-33%
Night 62-65*F Humidity 30-39%

Day 4 of Flower..

Ugh fuck me. Bad time to run into troubles.

600ppm on .7 or .5 scale? i dunno your strains, but many of mine would need at least 900 on the .7 scale by flip. especially my 5gal 4 footers, they were at 1050ppm first 3 weeks flower. 5-700ppm runoff everyday.

~30% RH? could ya raise that?

Ok.....sounds like classic VPD issues combined with overwatering , but I`ve been wrong before.........

With humidity that low the plants stomata are all but closed to "prevent" excess transpiration and preserve plant tissue moisture , so with yas feedin their ass 3 times a day , they`re not eating/drinking and most likely residual salt buildup and ph lockouts are right around the corner , IF that`s the issue...

With the size of those plants and lights off RH only risin up 9% is an indicator IME....

Hope it`s not rootzone critters of any shape form or fashion with the medium bein fed that much daily.....and...

One way to avoid lumen shock under mega wattage is to use close to the same watts per sq ft to pre-veg/veg with , and I really don`t think the lights are the issue Bro.....

I know with that much perlite you feel the need to keep the medium pulsed like D9`s PPK setup , but if RH ain`t where it needs ta be , the only alternative is back off on the feed sequences and see if they start drinkin and sweatin again....

Check runoff ppm`s and ph , check rootzones fer critters , let em dry out a lil bit , and hopefully they`ll come around....Pot`s a resilient plant and can grow AND finish under extreme conditions , just won`t finish well and might spit nanners , so check for plants hermie`n as well once initial bud set hits......Core ph and ppm levels are the best wayta check what the plants are exposed to with a slurry test....

Getchas some fogger my buddy as budget permits....You won`t believe how well they do in a dialed "moist" environment with proper watts per sq ft......anyways....Hope they perk back up Dabs.....

Peace....DHF......:ying:......

Some pics would help man...... that said it's likely your humidity being so low. Buckets/totes full of water with aquarium heaters on high, and fan blowing across the water will help raise humidity some on the cheap. Though ultimately you should have researched this project better, and allotted budget for pond foggers. Tossing this many lights in one room changes the dynamics a lot over just a few lights.

Edit - Freds has much better explanation.

In all honesty, my first grow had super low humidity, so i figured i could skate on this one..I kinda just assumed as the room got more foliation the humidity would rise and become less of a problem

I think if yas back off on the feed , they`ll start cyclin out , and yes.....

In a dialed environment as the plants suck juice and sweat it out , guaranteed RH will be increased , but with major airflow and exchange in low RH environment along with mega wattage , RH supplement is mandatory and will help yas next run ......

I just hope that`s all it is.....

Good luck....DHF.....:ying:......

I dont have bugs. Ive been keeping up on my preventatives, and my 100x scope has revealed nothing. Havent even seen any gnats.

So, what are my options..Can i shut off some of the lights, and in turn, cut down on the ventilation...

Cut down to like 2 feeds/day...

Hopefully the humidity will go up, plants will get healthy, and start budding, and perhaps I can figure some cash in the next couple weeks to get a couple 10 disc foggers...Then turn on more lights? I suppose i dont have to go with all 12...I need to get something out of this crop lol

sorry to hear of the growing pains dabs,I have a few myself...not trying to steal the thunder here
but I'm also dealing with a bit of low/rh-VPD in a sealed room,
nothing as severe as dabs,
i'm @ 55-60% but i want to get the room dialed best i can is this is the only weak link in the chain...so far

looking at a couple pond foggers @$128ish that were linked to a few pages back
it seems something like this is the best option all the way around?

shit 55-60 would be a god damn miracle over here right about now.

I wonder if that thing could actually do the trick...something tells me it would do fine in your sealed room...Not so much in mine ^_^

I think it'll do what i need also dabs. but even in your situation 2 foggerz against one of these still seem to be a better option?
its sez it'll do 160-340sqft depending on humidification requirements and ceiling height,
it does .4gal per hr.... so a qt an hr..

DHF also mention about a DIY yourself humidifier bobblehead made

best of luck Dabs :smoke:

btw i was getting the leaf VPD curl and was feeding heavy,
cut the fertz and only water and liquid karma and root stimulator and all the curl is gone in a week or less
DHF mentioned that a few posts back, man definitely kno's his stuff :joint:

I'm looking at this

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Honeywell-Flow-Through-Bypass-Humidifier-HE240A/203479938#.Ok_NCxxd-8E

16 Gallons per day of humidifying...Should help a little bit? I'll also turn down the lights and cut the fans down to whatever I need to keep the environment @70% till the end of stretch..then i can start turning on lights and more fans...and hope that i can salvage a decent crop still..

Any input?

So i turned off all of the intake and exhaust fans 100% during lights out...

Humidity has increased to 36% lol. So even with no fans, for some reason my humidity wont increase...

DHF, what would you do in my case?

What is best for my plants?

Runoff is 5.9, 1.2 ec. I'll slurry them once the lights turn on and see...Hoping i dont cause lockout issues, im gonna order some foggers and starve..I guess thats what i need to do.. The whole home humidifier seems like a pita to set up and dont know if it will actually do what i need it to
