Tonight and the next few days is Perseids.

Wife and I went out and saw a few, although not half as many as I had hoped, and no big ones...the weather here was perfect for it, although a bit chilly. Sky was perfectly clear.

Anyone else catch this shower or any other ones regularly?

I try to catch the events I can see throughout the year, in the northern hemisphere. I saw some nice ones Friday night after a trail run out in the forest, but I haven't been out to see any since. Going out to run the trails again tomorrow evening and will watch for awhile afterwards. Hope you two have better luck in the next few days.

Draconid Shower tonight. Wont be as good as the other ones they don't think, however if you are away from the city and artificial lights, doesnt hurt to look.

saw about 13 last year or the one before, some sort of leonidis shower or something with an L, happens every year i think. this year maybe 2 out of the corner of my eye, which dont really count i guess. makes you feel lucky though, almost prophetic to gaze up and be met with an expected event at unexpected times. the main deal is my neck.. fuckin hurts to look upo for long.. ill sit on a truck hood or the picnic table but not nearly enough. while your watching, might as well keep note of a star formation you can see easy. track its position, rotation. over time you can tell time with your fav grouping.
from 9pm to 1 am mine does a full 90 and makes for a great compass, but that changes in the summer a little
