Floramite has worked wonders for me. Two applications about a week apart. Only in veg. Many will trash talk on the floramite avid and even the fungicide eagle 20. I try to never use them but if nukes are required i have a shelf i keep the artillery on. Make sure if you use floramite that you run a surfactant (pro-tekt is great) and you ph to 5.0. Apparently all foliars are supposed to be applied between 4.5 and 5.5 ph. This is why "indicate 5" is useful. If you want to avoid inorganic pesticides i recommend a neem oil treatment. 1 oz of neem to a gallon. 1 oz of pro tekt silica to a gallon. A splash of sm-90 as well. That foliar will wreck the mites eggs and make their food source less desirable. If you apply that neem foliar every 3 days for a couple weeks it should do the trick. That foliar makes an amazing preventative.

.8 ml per gallon .... so 1ml per gallon is a good dose with that strength .
spray once let it set into the plants for a couple days . its systemic & lasts for 45 days in the plant before its undetectable . so i wouldn't use it more than twice & 4 days to a week apart at the most .

Its not the spraying that kills them , so if ya see a few a day or 2 later .... don't think it didn't work . they ingest the poison as they feed on the leaves & so will the babies after they hatch from the eggs ..... if they hatch from the eggs , cuz it seemed to have dissolved the eggs for me .i didn't see 1 egg after my second spraying & haven't seen signs of any sense then either .

dans, its the Avid .15EC. Directions say 3 drops per liter, which is pretty close to 1/4 tsp.
1/4 teaspoon per gallon. I have some but rarely use it.

Its emergency use only, and only to be used on plants in veg, a long, long time before budding or harvest.( they say 45 days, Id allow longer)

I have all types of natural oils I use instead 99% of the time.

Avid is dangerous to use. Wear appropriate PSP gear. Turn off fans that may blow fumes at You. I would also seal off the room for awhile, and leave the house. Use an all house fan to clear the air when you return.

I have had to deal with this situation yearly, as I run both indoors and out. They come in on clones taken outside. All it takes is one egg to slip by.

Dans: I believe that the active ingredient in Avid is not systemic. I think it stays where you spray it on the first and second molecule layer of the plant cell walls. If I recall correctly anyway.

I know most of u guys use those No Pest Stripes, and i definitely not trying to be high-n-mighty, but you guys should really re-consider those. Its the exact equivalent to slowly spraying Raid on your plants 24 hours a day. They clearly say on them dont place anywhere that people reside and dont use around food crops.
And theres no flushing that crap out.

I know you guys prolly aren't trying to hear this, but im just saying it cause maybe not all of you know how bad they are. Hell, they sell them at my hydro store, like they're made for gardening.
They're made for vacations homes, storage lockers, and boats.for when your not using those for extended periods of time.

:hide:

Pappy,

I had ordered some and didn't bother to read instructions on use until they arrived. Didn't feel comfortable using them so still in box.

What I have used is Neem Oil and now have read a thread where that may be bad for you as well? What do y'all think about that? Think that post was by TheCleanGame or something like that.

thats very possible Doc .... i don't really know to be honest .& yeah It was my last ditch effort to get rid of the fukers when nothing else was working . even nearly killed my whole plant population trying to find something to kill them off . but Avid did the trick on my plants .... alcohol & bleach did the rooms .

Neem oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of the neem (Azadirachta indica), an evergreen tree which is endemic to the Indian subcontinent and has been introduced to many other areas in the tropics. It is the most important of the commercially available products of neem for organic farming and medicines.

Sound organic?

It doesn't matter what pesticide you use .... your going to get 2 sides of the "should I use it discussion " some say yes some say no .... ultimately the choice is up to YOU & how much you really know about the product .

All i can say is do some research & make your own decisions . I should take my own advice & I will ! especially after some heated discussions about certain products .

One thing I can say .... is that after dealing with certain kinds of people on the site ..... my advice is going to be very limited from now on .... i just don't need the aggravation & i sure as hell don't want to get pissed off enough to just pack up & leave here .

fukin trolls gotta ruin everything these days !!!

EDIT ... i really hope you guys know i wasn't talking about ANYBODY that frequents this thread !!!!
Unc .... you've gotta be a fukin saint to deal with this shit in the GG thread & not want to blow somebodys fukin head off each day !!!

Have any of you fine fine gents used Jacks Hydro + Cal Nit? Thinking in the new room i want to give it a try for its simplicity, cost, and finished product. Been reading alot of diaries with larger scale growers using it.

Dans makes a good point, theres gonna be someone that says its bad no matter what is.
I thought I had root aphids a couple months ago, so I looked into options. I settled on Azamax, the reasoning being its just the concentrated active ingredient of Neem oil.
I ended up not having root aphids, but decided to use the Azamax on my fungus gnat problem
Then after I use the stuff, somebody on some thread, started saying how Azamax is sending people to the ER and all this crazy stuff.
So im currently lookin into, but jeesus creepers, the horror storys scare me.

I also wanna say I DEFINITELY WAS NOT singling anyone out. Almost every single regular contributor to this thread uses those things. I knew saying it would not be popular, but wanted to put it out there to consider for anybody who bought them at thier local grow shop, and thought they were innocuous.
I truly didn't mean to be a dick. Believe or not I like you guys, ortherwise I woulda said nothing and not risked sounding like a Douche bag.

Sorry 4 the interuption Unc.

Time to water the ladies and take some cuts.
Gg4 x gsc/fire og, sour d, urklex gsc/fire, and a decent sized gg4 get flipped tonight.:blowbubbles:
