Different types of curing?

Has anyone have experience with curing marijuana in other ways besides curing with mason jars?

With tobacco theres a few different ways and i was wondering if they could be applied to cannabis. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Ah yes, I remember my first adventure drying weed in a tobacco barn in Kentucky... damn near killed me climbing around those dusty rafters hanging plants in their entirety upside down in the relative darkness of the barn... and watching in horror as the mold ate it all, or most of it. 80 damn acres...we made some killer hash oil that year however...gotta use that still for something!

well this is not a better way but there is the water cure method :)

I don't remember why people do this again

I used to use the Pizza Box method.

I stacked the pizza boxes on top of the stove, above the metal where the pilot light was.

I would typically have a stack of 3 pizza boxes, and I would move the bottom one to the top.

Any any time, some of the herb was ready to smoke too, so the pizza box was sort of like a stash box.

They would hang for a few days before going into the pizza box. Then they would spend about a week in the pizza box.

how did it "ruin" the weed exactly?

water cure is amazing, actually pulls a lot of PPM from the plant, assuming that would end up in your lungs.. downside is getting the plant dried, and I've not explored, but I would assume once again there could be chance for bacteria contamination, never heard anyone talk about that, as there's not much on water curing in general

the only thing it improved even slightly was the smootheness. everything else went to shit IMHO hey if it works for you do it . its just my opinion having tried it with already kickass bud and watching it get ruined as far as I am concerned. your results may vary lol. I haven't tried it with sub par weed and maybe it does help then.

Freezing your buds at the point you would put them in a mason jar.
I put mine in paper bags in a dedicated freezer.
No burping needed.
You can keep them in the freezer indefinitely.
There is a thread about it in harvesting and processing.

People burying corn husks.

Humidors.

Curing by sublimation of water vapors from cannabis in freezer. Freezer-burning/Freezer-Drying. I have no idea. It does work, but make sure it isn't water-filled or every cell will burst and it'll turn into slush.

Water...cure. It takes away all the flavor, and some personality of the high, but takes away the entourage/mediating effects the other terpenophenols have and you get a much more devasting, yet more boring high. For medical, uncover smoking, or cooking into things

Tying them together, like the buds and curing it in stick form, a little more compressed and a more slow cure.

Finally, people are showing light onto their buds to accelerate drying of water, but maybe not the essences and terpenoids. When you dry, all your terpenes are flowing off the plant from the get go.

Check out the thread on freezer curing.
I did it with a normal freezer and it turned out great! Faster than in jars only and just as good,

Fascinating answers here from everyone...

Lots of locals doing water something because of the inordinate amount of PM this year.

Saves your bud from certain trashing, but it seems to me the bud is only good for converting into extract of some sort at that point.

The kind one wants to smoke has to be clean and well-cured from the get-go to be desirable... the rest is destined for something else processed.
