This day has been a mess from start till finish !!! i'm just glad to be back home & not on the roads with these idiots anymore today !
time fer some serious puffing !!!

never fun driving in the cold is it? i drove to alaska in late december one time....never do that again,driving on ice for 5 days turns out to be stressful...

As a side note...went to the local bike shop and looked around for about ten minutes while the only employee was pre-occupied....finally my ADD kicked in and I left. Figured if I buy a bike I also want a shop with good customer service so going to a couple of other shops in towns nearby. Not in a big hurry so checking Craigslist as well

if you're going to be serious about it a good bike shop is critical,you should never feel like they are snobby to you if you get a low end bike,a good shop will treat you good no matter what you buy.
and when buying a used bike,only buy it if they have the manuals and the like,if they have a stack of bike shop bills you're onto a possible good bike...

If it was the cold it would have been fine except for a few grannys , but we got another 3" of snow today that made the roads a mess because it was so cold the pavement didn't melt it ... it made it slippery as hell & it snowed from morning commute right through to the night commute making it just a freakin blast to out there with these so called northeast drivers .... WTF ??? do they forget everything they've learned over the years the minute a snow flake hits the ground ????
i used to love driving in the snow here .... but now theres so many damn cars on the roads ... its a cluster fuk even when it rains .

if only there were some form of easy to operate 2 wheeled transport that was affordable that still allowed you to carry a reasonable amount of cargo....

sadly only 1.6% of americans elect to use bicycles as their primary form of transport as opposed to places like denmark where up to 60% of the people in copenhagen commute by bike...

been 50's and 60's here for the past week. week before that the higs were 20's with freezing rain and sleet. gonna get a good drinchin of rain this weekend but it;s gonna hit 70 then chill back down by christmas eve
didn't take logn to look at the gg thread. first page i looked at was dribble and 10 pages later still dribble. i proly missed some good stuff but i'm just not into it right now so i'll check back in a few days and see if it;s calmed down any lol

I Love My bike shop! Its right next to a trader Joes. the front doors open automaticaly, so Ive been known to ride right in, all the way to the repair shop in the back. The head mechanic always works on my bikes. Hes a major Bike Junkie and bike racing freak. He treats my bikes like they were his own.

I can walk next door to Trader Joes and get a Lemon Chicken Salad, or something fuckin killer to eat. When I go back to pick up the bike, hes done extra stuff, and replaced parts for free. He looks me in the eye and shakes my hand. I love my bike shop!

lol dan i know what ya mean. we have the same weather year after year here and people still try to run a race in the rain and ride the brakes on the ice. when i lived in co it was cool. everyone in that small town just slowed down a bit when the roads got bad. still had black ice at night that would take ya out but even that wasn't a bad problem. not a small town anymore so i'm sure thats changed too.

I have to say .... i'm really spoiled by all the really good natured & very cool people that frequent this thread !!! the amount of trolls & assholes that roam through different threads here is fukin amazing !!! you can't give your opinion or try to help anyone out here without some asshole coming in calling bullshit or trying to twist your words around to try & make you look stupid & them a know it all .

Heres a pic from 1985. its a poloroid.
This was my best buddy since 1982. He was with me until two years ago. I was up visiting in Humboldt, and He went and got in the pond somehow. Still miss him. He absolutely loved good weed, hated bad weed, and went after every woman I dated.He would run cross thew sofa and bite her hair.

But this little dude just loved goodweed. Especially Red Leb/ Aghani cross we had in the 80s and early 90s. He would come out of his cage, open his door, climb on the curtains, and get onto the sofa and walk across to me to get a hit or a few. He'd get super high and mellow

Yes thats a real jay of Red Leb Afghani. He sometime took lit joints and ran off with them. He loved that smoke.
