I find it interesting that all of the articles written about terpenes/Cannabis seem to be written by people that have not yet smoked a weighed amount of 100% pure THC and then smoked the same amount of THC spiked with a single terpene. Like Limonene or Myrcene or another of the 130+.
They have lots of speculations, that could be answered with a little bit of hands on work with THC and the terpenes.
BTW I have tried maybe 20 of the terpenes alone, one a day and none got me high. If you add them to THC some certainly do modify the THC making it stronger or better depending on your personal preferences.
I look forward to a author that has tried THC/terpenes and can add to the knowledge, not just speculate.

Which terpenes gave you the strongest or most enjoyable effects when added to THC? I might try an experiment similar to this.

Sam,

Your stated starting point is arbitrary and not natural.

Many are suggesting that CBD is important, so why would 100% thc be a good starting point?

I agree it would be amazing if we could buy lab grade thc / cbd combos and then add back terpenes.

Unfortunately we are all just speculating, even if we have consumed large quantities of pure winterized 90%+ thc oil.

No, I stated THC because I have already done the work, I have not done the work with CBD for several reasons including CBD does not get you high and it might be harder to see if terpenes potentiate or alter the effects of CBD. I was just being practical. Here in the Netherlands CBD is not controlled and easily available, THC requires a license or prescription to possess.

Thanx guys....Very enlightening.
I guess THC to CBD/CBN ratios arent the only thing that effects the effect of MJ.
I always thought the terpenes were strickly about bouquet.
Im glad theres alot of scientific study going on these days.
Maybe they will change the schedule/class that MJ is on.
Just because I can grow a mean plant, doesnt mean I know all things cannabis, thats for sure.

Until there is proof that certain smells will get you a different effect, than Im stickin to my story about terpenes.
Ive been growing and studying for 25 years.

Just because I can grow a mean plant, doesnt mean I know all things cannabis, thats for sure.

Overgrowdaworld, get ready for "recreational dabbers" of Washington and Colorado to blow you away, and dont be suprised if they are under 25 and you have been growing longer than they have been alive.

Im looking forward to what these clever stoners are going to figure out with the research that will be done in the next five years.

Clinical researchers arent going to need to bother with federal permits when state regulated cannabis will be available at the nearest dispensary.

IMO with recreational cannabis in two states that is to be tested and now Oregon allowing MRF's (dispensaries) where all meds are to be tested, I think that there will be more testing and profiling on cannabis in the next year/two than the rest of our history combined.

Theres never been a market like there is now. Some testing facilities will be more accurate and some will cater more to their customers with padded results. Either way if we stick together as an industry and movement and dont let anyone divide us, I think this cannabis plant will give us a safer and more effective version of most meds offered by the pharmy industry..

Steady Dabbin!

How much does 100% CBD cost by the gram? How is it distributed?

I'd love to be able to buy bottles of CBD. All of my BHO testing has been with natural plant extracts and therefor contain THC, THCA, CBD, CBN, etc.

I personally have no interest in synthisized THC or CBD, but I'd love to work with others sharing results on how CBD to THC ratios effect different health aliments.

Even though CBD tempers or removes the high of THC I am still very interested in different combinations. We all know how to get high, but I want to find the perfect NON HIGH oil that can be used topically or ingested, helping me and others with joint pain and other medical issues.

It is sold by companies that manufacture analytical standards here in Holland, Germany, Switzerland, the UK. I do not remember the cost I think it was 350 Euros, this is for analytical grade, people should take the pharmaceutical grade, it was more expensive.
It is sold via a telephone or faxed order from me and it was delivered by Fedx. Most companies do not sell to individuals.
FYI, synthetic THC or CBD is identical to natural THC or CBD you could not tell the difference believe me even with GC testing the only way to tell the difference is if the synthetic has any artifacts from the synthesis, the better grades have none.
You can not have CBD shipped to the USA without a DEA license to import the CBD.

i amoked pure jwh018 for a while
i noticed that the smell of coffee ( containing many aromas) kicked off the jhigh ..
when walking in woods, the high would be more noticeable too ( much terpeniol in woods: the smell of woords can make hungry , just like a fat doobie)

terpenes are the future, just like i saw Sam wrote.

Been smoking BHO , ISO, HASH , JWH018 and my conclusion is: terpenes are what makes the THC lift off in your head

I know a great cutting i been growing for almost a decade now.
when over ferted theres almost no flavour to this bud, but when underfed a few times mid flower, it will produce a rich aroma

theres a lot of difference in effect between the two end products ..
and the more smell, the more puch

BHO and ISO rip the flavour apart
thats just how i see it

Gert, you should look up who Chris Conrad is before you condemn him. He is one of those who have devoted their lives to getting medical marijuana users (often parents of children) out of prison. What have you done?

All I'm seeing here is a lot of ppl defending their use of a dangerous substance (butane). It's dangerous in many ways, and you can't deny it, so you attack those who try to bring some common sense into the discussion.

What is missing in this discussion is how BHO makes you COUGH! I've seen ppl cough for minutes after one toke. Now you can cough from any strong pot, however the intensity of the wracking cough with BHO is far greater. Go ahead, deny it if you want, but I've seen what it does. What are the long term effects of coughing your guts out?

And passing out with these extracts is more common (than smoking buds), and it's great that this issue was raised.

BTW, people pass out not because of intolerance of cannabis, but either due to low blood sugar or the lack of oxygen or dehyrdation.
My theory on dehydration is this: If you are dehydrated, there is not enough fluid in the lungs to remove the contaminants, so the resin sticks hard to your lung, lowering your oxygen processing capacity, causing you to pass out.

Until some scientific studies are done on the short and long term effects of using oils, waxes, etc., the jury is out, and caveat emptor rules...

Also, giving dabs to medical patients is risky, esp. if they have any breathing issues. Far better to medicate with edibles.

think part of it is also holding in something while you are coughing. A valsalva maneuver causing a loss of consciousness

I've tried a number of the synthetics. If I try Sam's experiment with individual terpenes it will be with something like JWH-018 in place of THC.

Has anyone tried making quality BHO and quality dry sift hash from buds from the same plant? It would be interesting to do a side by side comparison to see how the effects differ.

What is this licence you require, can you explain more Sam?

I assumed as a holiday maker I can purchase cannabis flowers and THC-resin from many coffee shops around the country with photo a Id,,

I can't buy more than 5 grams or something.

How do these 2 significant factors apply in the same country Sam?

Is there a Licence required in the Netherlands to grow a number of personal plants under glass without lamps and hydroponic equipment or is this illegal??

How is medical cannabis kept separate from the coffee shop trade, via a licence? Is this medical weed then free on prescription or is it at cost to the patient.

How do police determine the difference between legal weed and non-legal weed, or an illegal grow or a medical compliant patient,

is all the medical weed grown in a facility by expert technicians or are the Dutch allowed to cultivate their own medicine?

According to some test results on my Sour Bubble the one percent CBG makes the pain killing effects last longer. Does CBG affect the high making it couchy? I need to get more of my moms tested but other than high THC I have never known how other componènts affect the high. Turpenes are really more flavors than effects?

I find it interesting how many flavors of fruits and aromas like bubblegum occur naturally. We find similar flavors in many things. We make candies and perfumes with similar tastes and aromas and there seems to be several turpenes like phenol that combine to make flavors but not highs?

A high is subjective so I assume the high can be affected by a smell for one individual. Good smells do make us happy so maybe subjectively the flavors do affect our perceptions of our highs. I'm pretty high right now but first thing in the morning doesn't take much.
