flipping lights in the same room

Has anyone ever flipped lights in sequence in the same room or heard of anyone doing this? Trying to cut down on heat:tumbleweed:, still have the same foot print, and have as good or close to the same yield. If it is a good idea im wondering how often to flip, every hour, 2 hours or 3 maybe? I know running this system would cause a lot more wear on the bulbs im not worried ab it. Any input is greatly appreciated, :thank you::tiphat:

...have you considered using a light mover that may allow a permanent reduction in the number of bulbs you'd need to cover the same canopy?

if you check the DIY link-o-rama i'm sure there are a few DIY light mover projects listed and there are many units available commercially if you have the cake, ...if you need the link, let me know, sometimes finding things around here can be a pain if you aren't familiar with the site.

peace, bozo

Strain dependent. If the love intense light give them 6hrs filp flop, if they are less apreaciateve of light 3 on 3 off for your 12 hr room. if your timers allow 2 on two off is awesome.

Horticontrol is a joke. If you have an even number of lights/ballasts you can easily flip half the lights in a room. Only flip one ballast, two lights at a time, if you sync the ballasts/flip with a PLC, you can power off the ballast for a few seconds to a few minutes, switch over to the cold bulb while the ballast is off. I've built several of these style of controllers and they work flawlessly.
