We'll see about no residue next week when I get mine. I pre-ordered like everyone else, it's just taking some time for UPS Ground to get it to SoCal. I'll post the test results here as well as at the residue test result thread,

Hmmm, 500% markup over LP containers - once again proving it's the shovel sellers, and not the nug miners who truly profit in the end.

Mixed gases provide a more complete extraction anyway...

Damn! I have been looking around on how to get my hands on nButane. Hopefully this is really what it sounds like. Will be waiting for butane test results.

Anybody else get skeptical when they saw the "quotes" around the word nButane on the label?

The MSDS indicates it is only 95.1% N-Butane and 4.9% ISO-Butane.

This is obviously because ISO Butane has a much higher vapor pressure, needed for canned butane. Its not necessarily unhealthy, but I definitely think the marketing is MISLEADING!

I fully agree Dybert.

Fwiw, Gwolf mentioned that the presence of isobutane actually makes for a more complete extraction than when using nbutane alone.

Looks like the can tappers just found the new shit to fill up their tanks. I'll take 95% n-tane until we can get a company on board to provide tanks here now that concentrates will be legal again.

Indeed, for us people that have the pleasure of running closed loop systems... We know that plain N tane is NOT the best way to go... :)

Yep, if I was forced to use a can, this is probably what I'd use... However, the lack of propane kind of makes me sad. Propane makes beautiful oil.

Capital N-butane #1 had 0.008g of residue

Capital N-butane, USA, 6.6oz/187g can, reads on the bottom "13337"

Capital N-butane #2 had 0.009g of residue

Capital N-butane, USA, 6.6oz/187g can, reads on the bottom "13337"

It was boiling from the beginning at around 35F without dipping lower, no propane.

The fluid volume in the Mason jar was about 320ml compared to about 225ml I've been seeing with the usual 300-320ml can.

The residue is clear, but gummy.

The smell is neutral.

"MYSTERY OIL CONTROVERSY

***Our n-Butane supplier(right here in the United States) had given us their assurance our product would not contain any "Mystery Oil." After personally running two different tests, one open loop @ 12 total cans dispensed, and a second test in a closed loop system with 20 cans dispensed, we found NO TRACES OF ANY RESIDUE OR OIL!"

http://capitalbutane.com/pages/all-about-n-butane

Only one can, and it's visible and weighable with a $30 scale.

Hey SkyHigh so this is what Capital told me after i told them there is still oil in there tane

There is no oil. What you are finding is a white substances that evaporates when you touch it or add the smallest amount of heat to it. Butanes evaporation point is 31 degrees. People run these tests with butane that is 0-10 degrees F. When you blast a can through a glass extractor the extractor gets cold and frosts. All thats in the can is carbon and hydrogen so look a little closer at the variables in your experiments and the substance you are finding. cheers
