Hopefully the seeds are still viable. Stay tuned folks its going to be a long slow ride, but be sure to check back periodically for updates.

ever try that tomatoe spray? supposed to give better yield blossom set or something. I tried it once and it didn't do anything for me ? cant remember name but its common even in homedepot. tomato and blossom set spray. supposed to give bigger yields and faster finish. tried it once and saw no difference but others have raved about it. good for other plants too supposedly.

Never heard of anything like that, just always mixed the soil up as best I could with some EWC and blood and bone meal.

I will have a look around next time I am in the city.

pruning is very important with tomatoes,i got my gardening ass handed to me this summer by the tomatoes, they just over ran everything else in the garden and still didnt yield well for me....things i learned....have a plan for caging or staking them right from the start....prune early, prune often...while you're checking for new sucker branches is a good time to flick the flowers to get better fruit set....have a plan to tie up branches before the fruit starts setting,i saw far to many almost perfect tomatoes on the ground from snapped branches......bad bugs love tomatoes,be ready for it....

If you have determinant maters you won't get the suckers the plant will gro to a determined size, indeterminates will over run your garden with suckers shooting all over.

Well here are some Pics of the Beefsteak and the Cherrie Toms

he Cosmonauts and the indigo rose heirloom are just peaking through the soil.

I had an Idea to put two plants in one 5 gallon bucket with a 10 inch net pot. What do you guys think?

So I would have two buckets 4 plants.

Peace

I think, you need more buckets. :D

Seriously, DWC is great, but it's not magic.
Those wee, innocent looking 'lings are like li'l puppys with enormous feet.
Do not underestimate how big a root ball they want.
One plant will stuff that bucket.
I put 2 in a 10g. tub and I'm already regretting it.
When the tub is 80% roots the chemistry gets cranky and will need constant monitoring during fruiting.

Too much like w*rk! (Sorry for the potty mouth) :D

That, and;
"The oak does not grow in the shade of the cypress" -Kahlil Gibran

I may have to obtain a 55g. tub and do a drip and plop.

Well I Bought a 20 gallon Rubbermaid Garbage can.

If I can only run one plant per can then I have to reduce my original plant count and grow 1 strain, and I am leaning to the Cosmonaut Volkov as it is suppose to be the best...

Cherries and Indigo rose would be nice to but I have to choose by the looks of things.

In a 20G. bin, you should be able to do 4 kine, yah?

It's not one plant per bucket.
More like a minimum of 5G. per plant.
I'd put at least 2 in that beauty.
'course, 'roun here, I'd have to paint it white or wrap it in relectix.
Our sunlight would turn it into Ganja-root tea in one day. :D

Aloha,

That's what I was thinking, Thanks for your advice, I will do two strains in the can, The Volkovs and the Indigo Rose.

Just dug out a 400 GPH submersible pump to swap the nutes in and out.

I just need to find the optimum mix of nutes.

Cosmonaut Volkov

Indigo Rose

2 plants in 5 gal is bad idea. minimum of 5 gal per plant. IMHO. that rootmass is gonna take up space. I have pulled out some bigass rootmasses that didn't allow for much water. and I don't like rootpruning unless its totally needed it can also be a bitch when plant is big. have you considered burying the can partially? them brute cans are tough. I got quite a few myself

This is going to be a indoor project so burying the can isn't an option the can is really light proof already so I do not anticipate any issues.

Also I was going to do 2 plants in this 20 gallon can, So that is 10 gallons each, or nearly 40 liters of rootzone for each.
