Stoned Kids (Video Documentary)

Medical marijuana is legal in 20 states and the District of Columbia, but there are still use cases that are very controversial, like medical marijuana for children. Some claim it's a wonder drug for epilepsy, severe autism, and even to quell the harsh side effects of chemotherapy, while others decry pumping marijuana into still-growing bodies.

We went to the small town of Pendleton, Oregon, where medical marijuana is legal, to visit Mykayla Comstock, an eight-year-old leukemia patient who takes massive amounts of weed to treat her illness. Her family, and many people we met along the way, believe not only in the palliative aspects of the drug, but also in marijuana's curative effect—that pot can literally shrink tumors.

I've never even grown any pot before.

(Well apart form Hamilton, I really developed a hatred for him after that 70 minute long search to torture a frog and see what the effects of frog toxin was... while he popped valium and smoked spice and who knows what else.

What did he learn? Apparently when you're a heroin addict who takes anything they can get their hands on all the time... well... toxic frogs are not that powerful a narcotic when you add it to the massive pile of shit you already take)

But yeah kids and Cannabis is a tough thing, I mean the kids - schizophrenia link is pretty strong.

That said, it could be that kids growing up with problems are more likely to use Cannabis, or it could be a wealth thing... There could be some other factor entirely.

What I mean is we've established a link but not a causal one, and as for cannabis and schizophrenia it can be pretty well debunked (at least in people over 16). The under 16 age group is harder to monitor for various reasons though.

I think some kids do need Cannabis, here's a sad example and someone who I'm sure is a personal hero to many of us:

I thought an International Cannabis Forum would be a place to have an honest discussion of cannabis related topics... but I am starting to think differently.

I fully believe in some of the medical benefits of marijuana.

I am also a current due paying member of California NORML, and have been for years.

I can "say" that I am only 20 years old, but then again I can also say I am much older and am related to Albert Hoffman. You can choose what you wish.

Being part of an online forum isn't about always agreeing with the status quo and being mean and hurtful to forum members with opposing views. I like to think it is about helping others, sharing information, and open discussion of topics relevant to forum members. These stories I post are things that show up in my news section of Google (I added a medical marijuana section), and this Vice Documentary just showed up days ago. If you don't like "News" stories about marijuana, don't read it.

I wanted to share and discuss the use of THC, not just CBD, by children. I find the video fascinating and actually made me quite emotional hearing and seeing how much cannabis tinctures are helping terminally ill kids.

You can't deny that it is helping children like Mykayla (and epileptics like Charlotte in Colorado)

Your lack of knowledge to call bullshit--just that! Not all the posts you are making are 100% true. They might be valid articles/U-tubes but, you post them as Facts! In order to really believe facts, you need to have more knowledge of the plant and its' effects.

I find it hard to think TP works for VICE.
Also the documentary isn't from the same viewpoint that he displays

My comment before (about side effects) was a little off topic regarding the documentary because it's broadly pro-cannabis, it just alludes to "concerns".

I didn't want to get too involved with the main claims of the video but I will try now.

I find the "Cannabis cures cancer" claims a little dubious, at least as a general rule. I mean yes, cannabis helps people undergoing chemotherapy with many things, certainly with the symptoms and maybe with the level of harm caused by the radiation.

Cannabis also seems to stop tumor growth but reduction of tumors is still mostly limited to animal studies.

Most (all?) of the people included in the documentary use Cannabis and Chemo, which is the best option for being free of cancer.

I guess satire is lost on many people...

For all I know you've filtered my messages because you never reply to me when I attempt to point out the flaws in your argument, it's a shame because I'd prefer if we could debate these things...

I have no real problem with you man, your plants look nice and I've always thought one of the really great things about ICMag is the great way people can exchange their seeds and knowledge.

In this thread I thought you were being attacked a bit unfairly (though saying that you just called BHO a hard drug so maybe not), it's the first thing I've seen you post that shows concentrates as useful and not as lurking monsters.
They do make concentrates in the film (albeit alchohol ones).

It's pro-cannabis and tries to make people think about the medicinal benefits, though it's to short to contain much real data.

That said you've posted a lot of stuff that pissed people off so I can see why they're here to call you out.

For the record: My problem with you was that you seem to be unable to differentiate "safe BHO users" from "people making BHO in their kitchen". (I also was annoyed with the overdose/toxicosis claims, fainting isn't an overdose)



If you could just stop trying to hammer in your "BHO is evil" message I don't think anyone here would have any problem with you.
