How I got roots in 6 days.

Another option: I'm using a std. 11x22 nursery tray with tall dome. I put a 1/4" plastic grate in the bottom, and I keep water with some 3% peroxide so it won't go funky, about half way up the grate. This keeps condensation on the dome so I don't have to mist it. The cups with drain holes are above water line. Later on, I just let the water dry up as they approach transplant. Or use a turkey baster syringe.

Also, why a scissor cut? Why not get everything going in your favor that you can? Why not do a normal 45˚ razor cut under water? Then dip in hormone. Good luck. -granger

I soak the living crap out of my coco with 1/3 to 1/2 strength transition nutes, then use thumbs to squeeze out all the water I can. Always works.

But if you had "great success" with rapid rooters, why change? How expensive are they in the great scheme of things. What percentage of your crop cost is it? -granger

I only wanted to try coco because I have so much of it laying around. I did the scissor cut because I've about had it. If it goes it goes, if it doesn't I have the rapid rooters and all is well again. I was hoping it would be easy for me but it's cool. I may try building an aero cloner in a few months.

The timewarp clone i have i have seen it root in 4 days, 7-10 usually, Some strains are good at kicking out roots if everything is in place. some not so much....

How much light are you using? Low light is best. I have one 2' T-5 18" above tray, and I have a layer of white paper towel on top of dome till I see roots. -granger

Nacho,
Do what you want, but Aero Cloners are, IMNSHO, a huge PIA. The Power Cloner I own use to take me an afternoon to clean and sterilize. Two day back ache also. I'm happy that it's in my storeroom with crap piled on it. Good luck. -granger

I had great success with rapid rooters. They're nice but costly to some. I might say screw it and go back to them.
rapid rooters, dome, and Ro water get me roots in 5-7 days I've used Ez cloners and aero cloners and just planting straight to soil...I had 100% to soil and rapid rooters of course 100% keep it simple.
My seedlings usually all root and sprout within 2-3 days with Rapid Rooters, have had great success with them squeezed out a bit till it stops dripping after soaking in RO water. I use a vented dome and spray them with RO water 1-2x a day. They do seem to like some light too very early on even in 1st week or they'll stretch on me.

I think that's a main reason how slowandeasy got roots in 6 days with clones, it's the aeration and proper moisture for the root system.

We tried this a short while back. Cloned in straight coco and pulled out the plants (very carefully!) as described by the op, in very low light.

Rooted in 9 days. Not 6, but still very happy with this cloning method. Thanks op!

I get roots in 6 days all the time, and never lose a clone. Granger has my same method. Just use your thumbs to squeeze the coco, it creates a coco plug. Low light, high humidity, and steady temps 75-82 ....canna coco 1/2 strength nutes. You should never fail, ever. Seriously, you should never fail.

Yep I got it but rapid rooters are my best bet now. It's just not working for me. I can't spend anymore time fiddling with it. I tried to adapt it to larger scale and well...I failed. It's ok. As long as something works for me then it's all good. Some people swear by aeros. Some hate them. Apparently I'm a rapid rooter guy.

I don't know what it is with the humidity this year .... seems lower than normal & was losing cuts constantly untill i started doing the same as Grainger . now i lose 1 or 2 at most .

Just tried this for the second time. Got some tough rooting chemsour and Og's to root in 5 days. Love the simplicity and that i get to work in coco, which is my preferred method of growing. Thanks Slow & Easy

Im a rapid rooter guy and with you all.. one little caveat a guy showed me was I stick a #8 or smaller drywall screw through the hole before inserting clone. allows small stem clones to penetrate farther rather then bending. Also I think it helps spread the roots and speeds things up alittle.. ??:dunno:

It is set it and forget it every time. Nobody will fail ever if they do this method. I can clone any strain 100% success in less than a week. No other method is this easy and consistent that I have ever tried....and the clones don't skip a beat and look perfect during process. Other methods almost kill all vegetation, and also need to be transplanted once rooted after 2 weeks. Try taking some 12 inch clones in coco, cuts down on veg time and they will root just as fast. Take it easy

different strains take different times to root, my 25 year old timewarp clone will root in 4-7 daze if things are right. Other strain take longer and always have for me....

I used an aerocloner for years and then it kept getting funky. I built a new one, same thing happened right off the bat. I love the anit-fungla property of coco being used to our advantage with this method. I added some ACT on day 2 and 9 and it kicked a$$.

I like using roots organic at 2 1/2 tsp. per gallon of drinking water from walmart. The water after the RO is added comes out to perfect ph, nothing else needed. I fill the six packs with coco, and give a light soaking with my "rooting water". I cut clones, strip the bottoms off, and only leave the 2 top leaves and 1 growth tip. Sometimes I leave a second node to create a muti-topped plant once it roots. I use the rooting powder from home depot, or walmart, dip and stick in coco. I use a tall dome and never mist them. After a day or two, I dump any extra water in the bottom of the tray out. I also take the dome off for 10-15 mins once a day when the lights are on.(My clones live with my mothers 18/6 light schedule). The fastest I ever had roots was 5 days. With the median time being a week to 10 days. I don't water them at all until they get roots. It's a good way to tell they are coming. I see the coco strating to dry and know roots will be there in a day or two at most.

Here's a cool little thing I do too. When my clone trays are full and I wanna take cuts of a certain strain, or root freshly gifted cuts, this is what I do. Get 2 containers of amish potato salad from wally world. Once empty they will hold a six pack perfectly. The other dish serves as your dome. This little contraption can fit just about anywhere, and as we all know clones don't need a lot of light. So it can be put off to the side on a shelf, on top of an already growing mother, basically anywhere. I just rooted six clones like this, and every single one made it.:woohoo:

Not to mention you get to eat a six pack of amish potato salad:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Fucking ghetto bastard. Hahahah <3

I get roots in 5 Days with about every strain in my setup....But thats just roots. Healthy, transplantable roots....usually 7-9 days... I like to go 10 days in the cloner for really healthy roots, tranplant to 16oz cups for 10 days, and the roots are overgrown...Then, trasnplant to final container, 6-7 more weeks of veg and then flip.
