Change your quality/type of high?! Smoke essential oils!

Shalom Ya'll! :tiphat:

So I have come across an interesting thing recently! It seems that everyday I learn something new... :artist:

So I always knew that the reason why different strains have different effects was due to the terpene composition of the strain.

So last night, I was like, I got this bottle of rosemary essential oil. Why not soak my bowl of bud with it, and smoke it?
So I did it, and guess what? the I got more clear headed, and less anxious!

So today Im going to be buying a few different essential oils, and vaping them into my lungs, after I smoke a bowl. (you can also just soak your bud in the oil and smoke it)

You see I found that different EOs have different terpenes, so for example, citrus EO has allot of limonene, which give you a clear headed, happy, active feel (when smoked after a bowl of herb). Where as lavender EO has allot of linalool, which is a strong sedative (when combined with cannabinoids).

Here are some links to read up on the different terpenes/effects:

http://terpenes.weebly.com/
http://www.truthonpot.com/2013/06/14/marijuana-and-terpenes-an-overview/

I shall update you peoples after my experiment is done!
But please, go out and buy some EOs and smoke them with your weed, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! :greenstars:

Peace! :ying:

Be careful taking essential oils internally without consulting a herbalist. The effects are wide, powerful, and so should be respected.

Ok so I got a lot of different oils last night, I use a proto vape, so I vaped them before I smoked, and they had a noticeable buzz on their own.

After smoking a bowl, I vaped more EOs, and I got a million times more stoned!

IT WORKS PEOPLE!!!!

I bought some limonene for an unrelated experiment last year. I tried adding a drop to the bowl of bud in the vaporizer a few times to see if it had any effects. I got the most orange tasting hits of my life, but I couldn't really tell if it felt different from the plain bud.

well now last night,,,, crazy! After smoking, I went on to vaporize me a whole bunch of essential oils. I probably vaporized like 40 drops of essential oils. So I would assume one drop would not do much or anything really.

Also, I found that the different oils made me feel different. Lemon grass made me feel more awake, where as ylang ylang made my high instantly into a sleepy high, and like how grapefruit oil made my high super trippy.

I feel like this can be very usefull for people who want to change their stone, and also for patients who need help with a certain ailment. An example would be insomnia, add some ylang ylang, and/or lavender/chamomile oils.

Test this out people!

my top recommendations:
#1 Rosemary Oil
#2 Grapefruit oil/ or orange/ or lemon
#3 Lemon grass
#4 Pine oil
#6 Hops oil
#5 Frankincense oil

Also, you need a protopipe with the glass attachment in order to vape it properly!

also, I just woke up and vaped some lemon grass oil, and holy crap. its like it made all the thc in my blood active again, no joke!

Cactus extraction?

Yeah, I used limonene as the non-polar solvent in the extraction. I used citric acid in the final step, so I ended up with an extract that tastes like sour orange candy. :)

I've been meaning to add a drop or two to a small batch of BHO to see what it does to the flavor. Some extract companies are selling concentrates with turpenes like limonene added after purging. I haven't tried one of those, but they sound delicious.

How are you vaping these? Is there any cannabis oil condensed in your vaporizer? I didn't think lemon grass oil in a brand new clean vape would have any effect.

Good thread. I hope you keep up the research. There was a guy on Edot (now defunct I believe, but it was a forum for discussion of all naturally occurring psychoactive substances except weed, lots of guys smoking/eating/snorting/shoving up their butt weird stuff and seeing if it got them off), about 7-8 years ago who started by smoking Earl Grey tea. He found that it got him high. He then got some oil of bergamot, which is the stuff that gives Earl Grey its distinctive flavor. Bergamot has limonene, linalool, pinene and an assortment of other terpenes. He had good success. I am pretty sure I suggested to him he try other terps, and to try them in pure form to see what each one was like.

Some other guy on Edot also tried smoking moth mullein (Verbascum blattaria), a widespread biennial weed. He said it got him mildly high in a manner similar to weak weed. I think I told him that I thought it may have terpene bearing trichomes. Can't remember what came of either of those guys or their experiments, it's not that I wasn't interested, but I just don't have the time to explore everything I'm interested in.

Of course Sam Skunkman has done all this long ago, with pure pharmaceutical grade terpenes, spiking pure THC with them and studying their effects. Maybe he will come and drop some knowledge.

Did you get the mesc citrate to crystallize? I think most people end up with a thick syrup.

I've studied the effects of some of the pure cannabinoids, but I haven't tried individual terpenes along with THC except limonene. I'd love to try these terpene rich essential oils to see how they alter the high. I'd love to hear Sam's experiences too.

Not 100% pure, but they came out as crystals. The hydrochloride crystals came out more pure, but the effects are the same with an equivalent dose. A 24 hour trip with the right dose. I would have loved this stuff more when I was younger. I get high with weed at least a few times a week, but cacti can be fun on rare occasions. Maybe once a year or so these days. These cacti happen to grow naturally throughout the Bay Area, so they're easy to find if I'm in the mood.

Yeah I hear you on that, once I hit 45 a trip that was an exhilirating carnival ride when I was 25 was a major ordeal. Still awesome, but I just can't afford the recovery time my aging body requires. When I retire though...

Thanks for the pic and your time.

Wow! You guys totally read my mind. This subject is chuck full of potential!

The best thing about all the strain specific extracts is the vast differences in the terps. The mad sci in me def wants to try my own blends or EO's to customize the exp.

But as it was stated earlier these ARE medical substances, even tho they are natural they can still hav powerful effects, so they need to b treated cautiously. Including choosing cleanly processed EO's and vaping over burning these un tested/unknown substances!
