Lighting question 3 1000's vs 3 600's

I currently run 3 1k bare vertically 26" from my plants. The light chart says that a 600 watt bulb will provide over 5k par as well.My question is will I get similar results with the 6's as I do with 1k's?

no, 1000 watt lights crush 600s. the only reason one should chose a6 over a1000 is if they can't deal with the heat. stick with the 1k.

Welcome to vert-ville.....Seems like the question is whether or not it`s a good idea to replace 3-1K`s with 3-600`s and still keep the plants at 26" away from the bare bulbs and get the same results from looking at a light chart showing comparable par ratings ?......

This is a loaded question at best since we don`t know what your room size is or how many watts per sq ft you`re running with the 3-1K`s , so more input is needed , but point blank....There`s no way 1800 watts can replace 3000 in a dialed setup.....

50 watts per sq ft is the baseline for optimal nug density and top shelf quality results from a dialed environment and dialed strains , but......

Sooo many folks get caught up in the hype of 1000 watters "crushin" 600`s that they don`t realize how much closer the plants can get to the 600`s without fear of heat scorching or light bleaching that directly affects bottomline consistent returns.....

Guaranteed after over 20 yrs of doin this shit and seein first hand the difference in heat compared to the difference in lumen output , my 600 eye horti`s put out 90-110000 lumens to the best of my rememberance , and the 1K`s were like 140000......but....

I`ve had end colas 6" away from my stacked 600`s with a small muffin fan underneath on low creating that column of air to assist natural heat convection and get removed twice per minute , and my plants started out 2' away when they were flipped .....

That was when I was dialin my Chem D`s and they still didn`t suffer any heat scorching/light bleaching....3-600`s works better than 2-1K`s IME , and 5-600`s kicks the shit outta 3-1K`s as far as light dispersion and more even coverage , so it`s all relative with what sq ftg yas have ta work with and how yas can configure light and plant placement for the benefit of all.....anyways...

Many ways ta skin a mule....but....Bare bulb 600`s penetrate 32-36" sideways well , and canopy depth can be dialed from there.....1K`s penetrate the same depth sideways cuz yas can`t get the plants as close to the bare bulbs without fear of scorching/bleaching....so....

50 watts per sq ft regardless of light source will getchas headed in the right direction.....and.....Slingin light at the plants will NEVER do anything but spin the power meter and cost out the ass without dialing environment first.......

Good luck...DHF....:ying:.....

The short answer is probably not the results you want. Substituting 3 600's for 3 1000's with everything else being equal really should yield considerably less.

Thanks everyone for the input.I actually wanted to PM you DHF(follow your rules religiously) but not enough post.I'm getting the results I want/need with a dialed environment now so there's no reason to change but the possibility of less power same results intrigued me.

As you move the plants in closer to the bulbs the size of your circle will shrink. This is where the yield lose will be as you will not have as many square feet of canopy. The bud that gets shaded will be larf.

id say if ur going with 600s. do 6 600s and or 3 1000s.. a friend did this with sunpulse splitters.. and ran sunpulse bulbs with great results.. ran 6 600s off his 3 1000s.. and boosted his yield from 800 grams per 1000w.. to 1000grams per 2 600 bulbs off the same 1000w ballast.
