Ever use desiccant packs?

Stubborn oil wouldn't wax or shatter. Acted decarbed from the get go... Was a waste of nugs... Or was it?



I whipped it up at 140 and threw it in the oven at 100 for a few hours and turned it off overnight.
I may try to freeze dry it with desiccant to get the chalky cuttable consistency i want. Its a little sticky to touch but its as good as its gonna get lookwise.

This is not optimal so dont flame me. Im just trying to figure out what to do with stubborn material.

try purging it in a thinner pile for a chalky texture.
you said it was a nug run.
when I do nug runs I get a greasy spongy texture.
when I do sugar trim I get the chalky texture.

LOL are those paper cupcake cups??!? Why not at least the silicone ones haha. They are cheap and reuseable!

They are parchment paper muffin cups. Im gonna play with my honeycomb shape a bit. I got the paper cups to go in a steel muffin tin. I think it will spread heat more evenly than silicon.

Aah i see. I really like the muffin idea haha. Did you happen to keep track of how much you put into the muffin cups, and what they weighed after purging?

I use desiccant in the bottom of my vac oven. I keep it in a tray that covers the bottom and then I cover and seal it with dust covers to prevent any desiccant contaminating oil when breaking vacuum etc. Makes dry oils easy. When not being used I sometimes store oil in the vac to keep it crisp. After a while the oil gets to a point it wont go back to pull and snap when you take it out, it stays crisp. Also when boiling off ethanol in the vac its great... quite a few grades to choose from if you want to really remove some water. I have noticed that somehow it seems to trap terpenes in the desiccant. My desiccant smells ridiculously dank after a few days of vacuuming oil. Anecdotal sure, still waiting on my portable terpeneOmeter. ...

Naka- I havent done any weight tests... It didnt work well.. The muffin browned out a bit and is still taffyish

Father Earth- Thats a good idea. I have some damprid packs that are refills so they are covered with a breathable cloth.... Maybe i will try it out next time. Thnx for the advice. Been getting good stuff lately but way too may failed runs. I gotta find some way to fix up my failures.
