Male/female strains that have been feminized

I have always wondered how a feminized version of a strain stacks up to the original male/female version (or vice versa). I. Have yet to try any, but know that many exist.

I feel as though it would be very difficult to feminized a strain and ensure it is a "copy" of the original.

Please give your thoughts and experience on this subject.

Some are different from one another.

The male/female seeds might be F1, using female stain A x male strain B to create them but the feminized versions are most likely a female pheno that has been selected from F1 seeds then feminized.

So that would make them f2s. Which have far more variation.

I think things like this are part of the reason why I hear people complaining strains aren't the same anymore.

I think a fem version is going to be more phenotypically limited then F2's of a regular strain. Also different pheno's between the two versions with the omission of the male's set of genetics.

There is quite a few ways in which they arrive at female versions of seeds, that is just one way. Most don't specify but if you know your cannabis genetics it can be easier to figure out from the information given.

If I was going to grow old classics like kali mist, sensi star etc... I would rather have the male/female over the feminized version. I used to run a lot of fems but I get more bang for my buck using regular seeds.

Fems are like terminator genetics, which I think is the idea behind them. They are harder to knock off and more likely you will buy more seeds instead of making your own.
