Synthesis' g2 - purple maroc, super bud, c99 hybrid, pure ak (Stop. Coco time!)

Welcome back friends.


After a very successful first run (and a much needed break from growing) I'm now back in action.

This time we're working with 2 strains that failed from grow 1 and a couple of new strains to go with them.

Strains are:

1 x Purple Maroc (Female Seeds)
1 x Super Bud (Green House Seeds)
1 x Pure AK (Female Seeds)
1 x C99 Hybrid (Female Seeds)

This is predominantly going to be a more sativa-esque run as I'm already getting bored of the strong couch lockish weed and want something more up, active and alive!

As you can see. It's still very early days. The purple maroc is about 2 weeks old (far right) the super bud is on about 10 days and the c99 and pure ak are on day 2.

What is very interesting is that the super bud broke ground with 3 cotyledon leaves... and with each node it is producing 3 sets of leaves. I have read that this is somewhat prominant with this strain and it's rather beautiful to see!

I wonder if yield would be more or less with this phenotype? Let's see what happens.

Raising them under a low watt LED panel.

interesting 3d's bro, should be nice this baby with 3 cotiledon, not sure if increment in positive the final yield, i got few time like this and the result was the same as other plants.

Killerweed > Yes although the super bud was interesting with the 3 sets of leaves per node. It did lose that trait at the 5th node as it grew normally at that point. Suprising stuff. I did try to FIM her to see what happens.


Here are the plants so far. Today I have switched from LED to 200w MH.

Far left (Purple Maroc - FIMMED @ 5th node and she's busting out multiple heads now)

Far right (Super Bud - Recently FIMMED)

Here they are a week later.

You can see the effect of the FIM job on the purple maroc (rear left) as it spreads out a bit.

All plants were given the FIM treatment as I wanted to see the effect it had on the plants as well as practice my FIM technique (I messed up the FIM on the Super Bud, waited for the next available node and RE-FIMMED it with success) The c99 hybrid (front left) and the Pure AK (front right) were FIMMED just last night.

All plants are tracking quite well but I've had to deal with heat issues (ambient grow room temps reached 34 degrees for 2 days until I rectified it) and the plants did suffer a tiny bit but are springing back now.

Yes IC OVO I'm super excited to see how the c99 turns out. In fact, I'm more interested in the c99 than the other 3 in the tent.

I really need to pay more attention to these plants. With work being so busy I rarely even feed them which is slowing the growth down quite a bit.

how well do they grow under the LED light. have u used any other lights befor the LED lights. how do they compare.

They grow quite healthy under LED. My particular LED panel didn't put out that many lumens but did have lots of usable light for the plants.

I do highly recommend using LED lighting to raise seedlings and early veg. If you have a high output panel you can definitely produce some quality nugs with LED.

I have seen plants vegged under CFL and LED and in my opinion they grow faster under 6500k CFL lighting, but overall didn't look as healthy as the plants grown only under LED.

These plants were transplanted yesterday from their 4 litre pots into 8 litre final sized pots.

2 timed mycorrhizal inoculations. One during late seedling phase and the other during mid veg. Here is the root zone growth as of yesterday:

They're growing under 200w MH and still stretching like crazy.

The purple maroc is showing pistils which is great. The other plants are still catching up. The Purple maroc was 24 " high at the 12/12 flip
The other plants were about 17-18" high.

All plants are doing pretty good. Will wait until the stretching slows before breaking out the 400w HPS.

I can't even begin to imagine just how much stretchier they would have been if it was the HPS I was using.

The Pure AK is a really thirsty one and loves to drink..

Super Bud responded beautifully to the FIM and has a nice dense bushy structure

C99 Hybrid quickly grew long and leggy. Suprising just how much she's stretching - a beast!

Purple maroc is the largest of the lot and I'm looking forward to seeing her develop more heft.

This grow run actually finished. I forgot to take pictures to document the rest of the grow.
Sorry guys real life issues got in the way

I ran into some major height and heat issues and yield was not very good compared to my first run. About 6.5oz of buds, dry yield. I did not feed anywhere near as much as I wanted to (maybe only once every 3-4 days) this would have also affected the yield. In saying this, even during the end of the grow the plants got very top heavy and were almost snapping under the load of the buds.

A few interesting things about the plants.


PURE AK - was the biggest of the bunch. It has the most intriguing smell. Almost like a deep cherry scent. I really love the smell of Pure AK. Great mix of indica/sativa a best of both worlds buzz.

PURPLE MAROC - had a very interesting aroma. It smelled 'middle eastern' is the only way I can describe the scent. It smells like something that originally grew in the middle east and has an almost afghan-like musky aroma. Very different.

C99 HYBRID - OMG. This strain smells like sweet grapefruit. It's an extremely sweet scent and I wish I had of flushed the plants properly to bring this flavour out with a long cure. The best smelling cannabis I've ever smelt - hands down. Juicey, fruity and absolutely pleasing on the nose. Soaring high. Races the mind - one does not want to sit still at all and you constantly feel like doing something. A great change to the indicas I've been smoking. Good for day time smoke and is likely to cause insomnia if taken at night lol *your mind will be extremely active*.

SUPER BUD - Smelt like diesel/fuel. Almost acrid. Strange smelling weed compared to the others. The smell is wierd but the buzz is definitely awesome. A warming buzz that sure hits the spot.
