Best control for root aphids week 4 of flower in ebb n flow?

Hi All,

I'm in week 4 of flower in an ebb and flow tray of hydroton. I also have some plants in coco in the same room. I just discovered what I'm pretty sure is root aphids in the hydro. I found black bugs that look just like aphids that I see in my veggie garden, crawling around on the roots near the drain of the tray. I have some Bayer Citrus with Imid. but since it's week 4 of flower I'm hesitant to use it. I also have some 100% neem and some Azatrol. I've been reading and reading but can't find a clear answer as to what's best to use in hydro. I read that someone burned their plants using neem in hydro.

I haven't seen any flyers, nor any signs of them in the coco, but I know that doesn't mean they aren't there. Also I only found a few aphids so far, and my plants still look great so I'm hoping to wipe them out. I'm putting up some sticky traps today, and I will use imid on my veg room but I don't want to be smoking any chems if I can avoid it. Anyone know the best and safest thing to get rid of them in hydro? Thanks!!

Imid half life 3 years. mmm, tastes like feet.

I'd rather have spider mites.

Some post decent results with Met52 or Spectracide.

Good luck, some growers move to new locations to
avoid a re infection. Think of eradication in months,
not days.

Neem just slows them down.

Start thinking of what you'll need to recover, new
mums and root growth potions, cuttings that don't root, etc.

I've been infected only a few weeks, and if I grew commercial
I'd be screwed.

Fucking nightmare.

I just posted this to the Fungus Gnats or Winged Root Aphid thread:
Get some Insecticide Soap [not dish soap or Dr. Bonners, etc]. Run it for 30 mins or so. Immediately flush well with plain pH'd water. Not systemic. No residual. Then feed incl root stim. UConn Ag said this killed them as well as anything, plus unlike other insecticides, it helps remove the waxy excretion on the roots that the RA's leave behind that slows recovery. This should get you thru harvest. Then use the Orthene/Avid routine [unless you're organic] on mothers, etc., with thorough room clean. Good luck. -granger

Thanks Granger, that's a good idea. I need something to knock them back right away until I can get something that will work. I don't think I'll use the neem in hydro. I'll let you know how it goes.

Just figured out that my veg room is infested. They're hard to see in dirt, easy to spot in hydro. I hit the veg room with imid today, hitting the flower room with azatrol tomorrow to slow them down enough to make it to harvest. Then I'm cleaning the shit out of everything.
