Im gonna be transplanting from 5g pots to 10g and need more lights then the 6 bulb 4' t5s that i have. So my friend gave me a mh and hps (both 400watts) can i mix all the lights together so i dont have to buy more t5s? electricity and heat arent an issue. Whatda think?

Yup, sounds good to me. For veg I mix mh, hps, fluoro, induction, led, plasma, cmh, incandescent, black lights, reptile lamps, halogen, and x-ray as well as gamma, alpha, and beta waves.

To get more red spectrum I added a string of all red Christmas lights. I had to buy shit loads of boxes of Christmas lights and then I pulled out all the non reds on one strand and took reds out from the other strands. Only took 72 hours to do that. Pretty easy bro. It's your plants we're talking about here. Don't you want that extra 4% yield?

I would use all that but nobody has given me that shit for FREE. And 4% on 10 plants is a loss of almost half a plant. I don't want to buy more t5s if I don't have to. Thanks for the info though

mh and hps is perfect combo. the t5 are weak compared but wont hurt anything. go for it but don't let the t5 block the superior mh/hps lighting. I don't know your setup but maybe the t5 for side lighting or on edges of grow. ?
