Dans, I hope you get the house you want. You deserve it.
And you absolutely kill it in smaller spaces, so id love to see you in action in a proper space.
You said its no competition between third and unc, and you. And while it isnt a competition, I think your just as good as them guys. Sure they got more lights, but your plants and the efficiency of your setup are just as good.

Gando, that sucks man. I wish I had a tip for getting that plastic off. Thats a tough one though.

Unregistered, those look great!
Remember, some of the most important things to look for in a male cant been seen in a pic though.
Give the stems of the leaves(petioles) a little rub, smell ur fingers. The more odor, the better.
Check the density of the flower clusters. And the size of the indivuidual balls.
Also, look for any visible trichs.

Now what I can tell from a picture is structure, which is definitely important.
That said I personally like the structure of the one you have listed as "shortest".
It looks bushier and shorter in the group shot.
It has good secondary branching, deep serations on the leaves (which I believe to be an indicator of fire weed), and (it looks like) its stacking tighter nodes and dense flower clusters.

However if you grow in a SOG type set up, with a bunch of plants close together, the one you have listed as "tallest of the group" could be a good choice. It looks like it has little side branching, and would be good for SOG.
(BTW The one you have listed as "medium of the three", looks like its the tallest in the group shot. You sure those pics are labeled right?)

Another breeding tip I heard from a breeder named Ras Truth, count the number of serations on a leaf of the male, and the number of serations on a leaf of the female your using, if its the same, they will breed well.
Could be bullshit, but hey. Worth mentioning I think.

Also nice thick hollow stems are supposedly an indicator of potency.

Lastly, remember, there is no rule that says you have to use one male. Bodhi, who imo is one of the best breeders in the world, routinely uses 2 males of the same strain on a female. It offers greater diversity in the seeds, and gives you a better look at all the possible phenotypes of that cross.
But if consistency in the seeds is important, its better to use one.

well todays ride really sucked for the most part...only went out for an hour, but the wind was blowing a steady 25-28 mph with gust up to 40,at some point it just got ridiculous fighting against the wind even though for more than half the ride i was sideways to the wind i was getting blown all over the place...i still managed to cover 15 miles so considering the conditions not to bad...tomorrow back to the mountain bike...:dance013:

cranking along in veg, another 12 days and i can flower the seed plants of mental floss and strawberry diesel, need to cut some clones off those tomorrow..

Thanks for the quick replies

Lurking on the forums for years have tought me you can learn a lot more from non-specific threads where the regular posters all can value each others opinons and offer advice w/o all the bashing!

bOOm - thanks for your opinion, thats my favorite, but that was based just on height.....going to look for a few more things now after reading Pappy's reply.

Pappy - I really appreciate the detailed response.......everyday I visit the forums I gain more and more knowldge.

Dan - That sounds like a nice piece of property....and in part of town you want @ that is sweet. hope that works out for you.....now i am curious and need to look up what mortgage rates are.....haven't paid attention in awhile.

Guess what I am saying........y'all SUKers are stuck with me.....and while I will definately soak in more knowledge than advice I can offer.....gonna hang around.

My next grow......4 Satori clones in 3x3 tent from my best female of last grow....since all will be same going to try some lst and scrog.

My next project....to automate the watering of my current grow, now 6 females in 3 gallon bags. Each took a gallon 2 days ago, and will need watering again tommorow, which is quite time consuming mixing nutes/ferts by the gallon and hand watering. Going drip w/ mag pump on timer.

Thanks for looking!

hopefully i will be putting up drywall soon so a tent may not be so good in the back, actually i can use my closet here and set the tent up with the led...

Good evening fellow IC people,
So with so much interest...here are the males.
And as I have picked up reading lots of posts, and thanks to Pappy for the warning I will make a disclaimer:

Straight guys can view and comment on this thread just as the "knob gobblers", "weenie washers", or "turd burglers".

All are welcome...don't be shy, haha

All are Mandala Satori

Want pollen from one male...which one would you choose? If they all suck......tell me and I will chunk all of them...planning on another real seed order so making seeds not really a priority but would like to experiment....just a few branches on each of my females.

Thanks Y'all for looking!

they all look nice
im with pappy rub the stem & smell
I also chew a flower for taste ,
use a 10x scope look for the most crystil

As info.....some lighting manufacturers even recommend using gloves when handling bulbs as not to leave any contamination on the bulbs as those will become "hotspots" and cause premature failure.

Hope I read that somewhere and didn't make it up, haha

I've always gloved up or used clean rag to do bulb work. Not sure where I picked it up.

Went to check on flower room just now, an hour after lights on and the dang ballasts were too cold to fire. Suppose I shoulda been using their heat inside the room n they might have been warm enough to ignite lol. Anywho they're in there now warming up. I'll tromp again thru the 18" of snow out back to plug em in n hour r so. Set an alert on my phone to remember... Still dialin er in... got rid of vert bulbs today too. back to cooltubes.

cheebaHawk rambles again

The gloves with handling a bulb is so the oils from your skin don't get on the glass & cause a rupture . i just use a fresh papper towel & wipe the bulb down & then hold onto to it while i'm installing it .

yes,the only one i have grown out so far was true to the mother and the father i used seems to have bought plenty of cindy over into the crosses i made using it so i expect some fairly textbook cindy plants...

i may have to go with somewhat smaller plants depending on timing of everything in order to be able to switch the rooms over, still lots of steps in between now and then so no need to worry too much about it now...
