i know it sounds like i slag on the organics thing quite a bit but thats not really true, indeed i have embraced it in many ways, the veggie gardens, the front native plant landscaping, the 3 different compost piles and barrels, having mostly switched to locally raised free range beef and chicken, buying as much locally small farm raised produce as i can....not to mention the whole bike thing...actually i will mention it since its a huge commitment to be a full time cyclist, some days frankly suck ass....but still better than being trapped in a car...

anyway, rambling here... feel free to discuss your methodology here in this thread, thats is part of why it exist after all,but try and do it in a way that instructs.take the time to shoot some pics and put together a mini tutorial on how you do things and the why of it as well.

as you can see,we have a diverse group of regular contributors to this thread, and everyone has their own unique system and style,we can all learn from each other even if we dont agree on many aspects of growing....only one person needs to be happy with your garden...you...

Had a great weekend in football this past weekend so im lookin to spend a little cash! Im lookin at getting a 2 foot t5 for veggin/seedlings and as i as lookin on amazon I found quite a few different models/manufacturers. Ive only really ever seen the sunblaze ones so I was curious if any of you guys have tried out the more generic versions?

HydroFarm - $95
http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-FLT24-4-Tube-Commercial-System/dp/B002JQBQZQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1386191664&sr=1-1&keywords=t5+grow+lights

Generic - $50
http://www.amazon.com/Light-4lamps-DL824-Fluorescent-Hydroponic/dp/B009GU4RMC/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1386192007&sr=1-2&keywords=t5+grow+lights

Sunblaze - $95
http://www.amazon.com/Sun-Blaze-T5-24-Includes/dp/B002JLI7VC/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1386192239&sr=1-4&keywords=t5+grow+lights

Any reason to not get the one thats half the price? Sure it may not be as durable and whatnot, but could it really be THAT different? reviews seems good on it too

I don't think Unc does much drifting .... unless its in the sand

I've got a few cuts in an Unc o cloner again .... just to see if i can get ANY roots that way . never worked for me before .
gottem sittin in a dark corner of the clone shelf & i just top off the water when it gets about half way . we'll see
I just stuk mine on the veg tray under the canopy and whola, roots. But like you it was just a fukit instead of tossing them.
Talkin about this freakin attic .... i'm going to look at a house tonight with a 1000 sqft block out building slash workshop with a walk up attic , heat , electric & a half bath & 2 overhead doors :dance013:

3 br house on 2 acres & the out building is away from the house by about 100 ft .
in the part of town that i've been looking for a place for years !!! country setting just outside the city !!
keep yer fingers crossed !!!!
Kool!!!!!!!!! hope it works out for ya
seems like the hydrofarm and Sunblaze have 5 year warranties on the ballast....not to mention theyre eligble for amazon prime!! :woohoo:
Don't do it. They may send it by drone lol

Its always a risk buying stuff online, it makes it harder to return.
But the prices are usually better.
I got a 2' t5 brand name at my local shop for $65 out the door with a warranty. I dunno what the local grow store scene is like in your town, but I bet if you wanted you could find similar.

I just bought a carbon filter that was all fucked up, took it back and they took care of me. (BTW, the owner said hes never seen anything like that either.)
Which by the way, I had to settle for the phresh 6 x 16, because the phresh 6 x 24 that I wanted was out of stock. Hopefully the 6 x 16 will be fine for my 8 x 4 space. Which is only 128 cu ft. And my new flowering space will be an 8 x 4 tent, so, exact same.
The inline fan venting the space is rated 350 cfms, the phresh 6 x 16 is rated for 400 cfms. So in theory my space's air should be exchanged almost 2x a minute, and the scrubber should be able to handle it.
:dunno:?

Dans, ive been super busy, I wont get a chance till after Christmas now, but since ive been doing it this way for 3 years, hopefully another month wont kill me. Literally.
Dont go anywhere though, I will definetly need your expertise. Its actually been stressing me the fuck out that I havent been able to do it yet. Its my top priority on the to-do-list, believe it or not.

Unc, it seems you think organic growing is all about caring for the environment. And maybe to some folks it is. But for me personally, I try to grow as organicly as possible and I could give 2 shits about the environment really. I personally do it so my weed tastes better, thats it. Fwiw.
I smoke my organic weed while I change my oil in the street, letting the black dirty oil flow into the sewers, while im wearing my baby seal skin boots.

I called the local store and they have a 2' 4 bulb for $121.00. Im thinken i can go in there and offer em 105-110 in cash and theyll take it. Hell, with my "discount" i think it drops it down close to that anyways

I'm sure you have something to set the cups on, just get creative. Maybe cut an inch off the bottom of an identical cup and flip it over? Poker chips? 1" thick slice of pvc?

But yeah, I don't think you want coco sitting in water. Maybe don't cut any holes in the cups so water can't sink in?

:yeahthats:tiphat:

already done bug , got'em in a second cup with no holes.

went to see the house . its kinda beat .... but its just cuz its old . a little paint & a few rugs cuz i hate hardwood floors & it should look decent . didn't get into the workshop though .
what turned me off is its for sale . but they're trying to rent it so they don't loose money by it setting there empty . i'm NOT going through that again !!! i'll talk to the realitor .... & if its workable to buy .... i might try .... dunno ... theres alot of IF'S there .

Hey guys. So I went and did something Stoner-ish here last week one night when I was all high. I intended to undo my thing before things turned on for the day. Because its could out side now, I decided to take a plastic grocery bag and put it over the end of the ducting to prevent any cold air from coming inside via the ducting/hood while the fan was off. I was going to remove the bag from the ducting before the light/vent ducting came on, and well it got sucked in. It was 20-30 min after lights on that I realized what I forgot, and after powering down the light I found I now had a 1000w bulb that had melted plastic bag all over the tip of the bulb. I'm figuring that the act of scrapping the plastic off the bulb might/could damage the out side of the bulb. I'm running an old bulb right now as a replacement bulb.

Help me pick a male for fun

Good evening fellow IC people,
So with so much interest...here are the males.
And as I have picked up reading lots of posts, and thanks to Pappy for the warning I will make a disclaimer:

Straight guys can view and comment on this thread just as the "knob gobblers", "weenie washers", or "turd burglers".

All are welcome...don't be shy, haha

Want pollen from one male...which one would you choose? If they all suck......tell me and I will chunk all of them...planning on another real seed order so making seeds not really a priority but would like to experiment....just a few branches on each of my females.

Thanks Y'all for looking!

Hi Ganoderma, I would go ahead and order a new bulb....if you do not completely damage the bulb by scraping the plastic off....I would think it will really effect the quality and remaining life of the bulb.....Sh&t happens. Could have been worse as in fire.
