In bloom the 1 minute increments is fine, I just think if i were to go to drip in veg, it would be waaaaaaay too much

plant magic granules work really well for rooth growth. every time i use it in my coco i have crazy rooth growth. its used every time you re pot but it is expensive.

I use the Mistking timers , they have seconds of on time instead of 1 minute increments .

.

Dans: If and when I do switch to a timer, I will get that one-thanks for the link!
I have only done about 11 or 12 ladys in coco, some come out way better than others-sometimes I think bout ditchin' the whole coco scene but my largest yield was from a coco grown plant... I hand water(feed nutrients) a little at first, then build up from there to once everyday in flower. I am not gonna lie-sometimes it is a pain in the ass to do it everyday but I know I will get the best yield if I feed my coco ladys that way. Now if I get them on a timer, I am pretty sure it will make it worthwhile to use coco and maximize my yields. What do you use as a reservoir, what kind of pump and all do I need to get? Thanks for the help!

I use a 4x4 ebb and flow tray, 40 gallon Botanicare reservoir and some simple pump (Eco 396 I think). I grow them in 1.5 gallon containers and flip them at appox. 18" (depending on strain). There is a pvc manifold plumbed with drip lines from Home Depot,Lowes, etc. al Pico....Look it up, it's a great design. They grow up into a pvc framed nets. Sort of like a SCOG. I am currently using the net as a support system, but think I might lower it and put in less plants and stretch them out. I do 16 per 1kw light/per tray. Water them 3 times a day for 1 min initially and by the end of bloom, 5 times a day. I def. like coco the best, have been a long time ProMix/Sunshine guy and have done hydroton ebb and flows. The coco is the best of both worlds. If a pump fails, they can go a full day without damage...and even longer if I take the time to hand water (power outages). It has the speed of hydro though esp. when done on a drip. I hand watered and treated it like soil for a while in 5 gallon containers. Def. rock the drippers.

I use 18 gallon rubbermaid totes , & 396gph ECO pumps , 1/2" poly lines to 1/4" drip lines & basket stakes 2 per pot

& then suck the runoff out of the tray with a buckethead shop vac & dump the waste in the toilet .

cap is crap. ticking time bombs. hopefully you dont have any genetics you dont mind losing when it craps out.
For the most part CAP is crap, but at $65 per timer, it fit the budget. In 2 years, in 4 rooms, not a single failure on the timers.

I've been using CAP products for years and years and years and years, as have lots of my friends, never had a problem with anything. It's all made in China, every single company. I would bet dollars to donuts that it's one factory making all this gear (be that timers, ballasts, bulbs, etc) that is then bought up by various companies who put their logos on it. Who knows?

The other beauty of the coco, in my opinion, is if a timer did actually crap out, you have a day or so to figure out it happened and replace it. Can't do that with many other hydroponic mediums.

Do not let this post die. I'm learning way to much.

I better bump it then haha.

Guys out of curiosity what kind of day/night temps are you giving your plants? I cannot tell you how important it is to keep your room warm day and night. I've had a fair share of screw up because of temps in the past, these days I keep my temps 75-78ON / 69-72OFF at this rate I'm seeing a big difference in my plants. The stretch is slowed down big time, trics arepacking on earlier, bud are forming earlier plus they are fatter. Basically I'm seeing a good improvement overall.

Peace,
HGO

I'm getting 75 to 80 lights on & 65 to 70 lights off .... now that i've got my heater dialed in !!! it took a good 2 weeks of tweeking the settings to get it to stay at a stable temp zone . it got as high as 90 with lights on & as low as 57 one day when i forgot to turn the heater back up :)

but your right about things happening much faster when the temps are where they should be !!!

these oil filled radiant heaters are a nice even heat source .... but they're a pain in the balls to get dialed in !!!

I run CO2 in my room, so I will let it get up to about 80-82 lights on, and about 65 or so lights off. I have noticed less stretch for sure, but in my experience I get way tighter colas and far higher levels of trichome production with cooler night temps. Not saying I am getting bad results by any means.I have read accounts of folks actually stopping the stretch on equatorial sativas by INCREASING night time temps over lights on temps.
