Had some slow growth after topping, but have recovered well after topdressing with some living soil and ewc. They have been getting dandelion fpe, Tm7, protekt, and good ol' 300 ppms of calcium in the well water.

I incorporate rice husk charcoal into my coco/peat mixture for the silica, and use EWC every week. It works wonders for keeping the critter population down too!

I have moved from coco to Lithuanian peat moss. Iys great and exactly the same consistency. Its also much cheaper buying it in compressed 4ft square bale. I really like the fact i can use biochar instead of lime to correct the acidic ph...

Flying blind in coco

Jumped on the coco wagon, saw a homie using it and took notes. Fast forward to my 1st attempt cpl years later. I should have done more homework because I was not expecting this whole cation preload thing. Working with
40/40 coir and hydroton
20% ewc
2tbsp of green sand, of lime, of soft rock phosphate each respectively
feeding with bird guano 10-10-1 cal mag on hand, homade lacto b in the mix.
Less than a week of transplant from red solos to 1gal cloth smartpots the fuzzy roots were bursting up from ball like mini Shai Hulud's of Arakis.

My Indica girls are trucking along but the tall girl is dropping leaves like crazy with slight clawed tops, desperately trying to put the green back on the scene :flower day 8, Winning the war on mites so far but I know the can resurge once the buds thicken.

After reading the thread I think I may have highish ph like 7 or so in the medium? I know I should get a ph meter but using "the force" is soooo fun! Its like cooking a bangin ass curry that you cant taste until the very end lol:pie::plant grow:

I've been messing with:

-oyster shell
-lime
-off the shelf home depot "organic fert" 5-5-5 ( feather, kmag, chicken shit... )
-kelp ( non soluble )
-epsoms

I've had success not even having it cook. one round I top dressed, but got some mold growth on the stuff, so I didn't like that.

I'm trying to cook it this time to see if there's any difference..

also got another recycled coco growing starting.

I'm never finding a need, or ever have, growing with coco for maybe 3 years, no aeration add in's needed. honestly once the plant get's big, the water holding is on the low end, it's like you can't overwater, or underwater.

new to organic in coco, but I'm learning fast, as I have so many things going on at once.

I don't think it could hurt if you added some; to be honest, it seems like a fine mix. I'd say you're good, but I defer to other more knowledgable members.
