seems like a good idea to cover them, just think about the humidity those tunnels can collect too, specially when full of plants and without enough air movement.

Oooh, A hillside of hoopies. This is great.

-yes4prop215, I have the exact opposite with my garden this year, the plants that went in early may are smaller than the ones that went in around june 1st. I wonder what it is about out individual microclimates that does this?

Its still a tad foggy some mornings, but the summer seemed to finally come, its been "don't wanna work outside in the sun" hot most days, That June/July gloom and smoke haze really got our jimmies rustled, we have all the materials to do the hoops, but have put the brakes on things for now. The exact reason I didn't wanna tip my had until it was all done, because I knew the amount of backpedaling we would do about the concept.

Also the different strains are going to harvest at intervals so It would end up being silly and 1/2 empty tunnels. Just going to ride it out, have been preventative treating for fungus and cutting away and treating and spots of rot that have popped up. The Trainwreck will be ready in 2 weeks or so methinx, Blackberry soon after that, the WiFi seems like its going to take the longest, so that's the hoops you see up already, might very well end up covering them if we don't end up just moving them into the [hopefully by then empty] greenhouse.

@yes215 This outdoor was a total fall-in-your-lap surprise. We had no lead-up plans [why everything is so small] or idea this was going to happen this year. Rented a property with the intention of indoor usuals [May], then in construction phase noticed how fucking hot we were, always sunburned, and amazing south facing clearing.

We decided on a SURPRISE! outdoor season.

Luckily we had a reserve of plants over at an associates house that we had set-up in the fall [anyone remember the fluorescents on the pully-mounted system and automated watering that we set-up for the recent back-surgery disabled gentleman?] We called in our bets and pulled our vegatative plants that were there awaiting transfer into the next crop rotation, and threw them outside since they were already bigger, and bought a round of clones to replace them , setting us back indoor, but giving us a little jump on the outs...

Still I'm amazed that I managed to pull this off on such unplanned short notice, starting in January next year ;)

The original idea wasn't for proper "hoopies" really... Like the front greenhouse with rolled up sides and open air ends, the idea was to create a barrier above the plants to discourage nighttime moisture accumulation, radiation cooling, block any rainfall, and create a diffuse light pattern.

The hillside concept was more like an awning with greenhouse film having open sides and ends as well..

Good work HF420! How many people help you with this project, because I sure think 3 are not enough. Good luck with the morning dew...subscribed till the end, because I like all the hard work that you have put in those lovely plants you have there.

:tiphat: Can't wait to reach that level in a decade or sooner!

Please sacrifice the camera - You got a twister going at it for 2 weeks... like your camera doesn't need an upgrade already haha

:good:

Were done! Today is 1st day of cleanup, utilizing the help we have leftover from trimming to tidy things up before the done trimming-itis hits us.... Now that I'm just mostly directing the work/ers instead of staying busy with harvest specific work, operating machine, etc. I'm gonna take some pictures of the carnage..... might even find time for a proper update of some sort!

Thats it? Thats the end of this grow? No pictures?

What a bust...

What Hella failed to mention is...this year was the worst fall in over a decade...we had 220% our average rainfall by the first week of October...many gardens/growers in the area were absolutely devestated by botrytis. :badday:

Gah, I'm soooo sorry. :(

Nspecta ain't lying NoHum got blasted by some early moisture this season. Not why I disappeared, just laziness to keep up with updates I guess. We definitely lost prolly 1/3-40% of our totals, "luckily" this was our first year with anything "big" outside so we didn't have any sort of baseline for disappointment, even WITH all the losses, its still more then we produced last year (0) so were happy none-the-less!

Got superbusy, hardly and pictures were taken, my hands were always sticky, (grower tip #1) started putting my phone in a ziploc bag, so I could use the touchscreen without fucking it up with resin!

Once we were finally done working, I kinda checked out of reality, a few projects were undertaken, but it seems our midset kinda changed from the back to back indoor cycle to a more yearly outdoor prep type schedule...

According to file names, these indoor pictures were taken the same day as that last update, so I'll be picking up here I left off:
