It's a good plan.
I highly recommend looking into high CBD strains as they'll allow higher levels of medication without getting high or stoned. Harlequin, the one I have, isn't perfect for my head but it's light years ahead of anything else I've had over the decades.
Here's looking forward to some seriously wicked cannabis psyche meds in the future.
