Have you lost your sense of marijuana smell?

I was wondering if any other peeps on here feel like they have lost their ability to smell marijuana. I feel like for me it is just sensory overload and my body has shut down my ability to smell weed. Not completely but to a huge degree. When I first started growing I feel that I could smell my growing weed and finished product to a much greater degree than I can now and I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Stoned and drunken random thoughts for y'all in the Den.

You might be onto something about diminishing sense of smell. I came home the other day with a diesel nug in my pocket, not realizing the extent of the funk. My 7-year-old daughter held her nose, waved her hand, and told me I needed a shower. Not surprising that she might confuse sour d with funky body odor. I take a shower once a week need it or not so it couldn't have been me.

first there is inurement (why your doody doesn't stink for long), then there comes allergic rhinitis (why you can't smell anything). light a cheap cigar and take a few whiffs, if you then can smell your shit (green kind) you have the former, if you can't smell the cigar - you have the latter...

BTW, a fine cigar is a wonderful palate "eraser" when you are fighting same ol' syndrome...

Thanks for all your replies guys!

I don't think it is the weed :)

I cracked open a jar at a friends house and he was a good 5 feet away and said how nice it smelled but I didn't get much of anything even with my nose in the jar.

I must have pig farmers syndrome.

Smoking apparently effects the sinuses, and I have definitely noticed a decrease in my senses of smell, except for a few things, like cigarettes or gas. I am very sensitive to them. But, yes, my sense of smell for cannabis has gone down.

I lost it for a short period of time after the last time I was raided. Was hash, everything smelled the same for me. It went away. Give thanks. Peace GS

In a way, it could be you are around it often. Similar to those working in chicken or burger joints. They don't smell the chicken grease because it permeates the air. We sure do!

Laughed reading you 'pig farmer's syndrome'. Definitely a difference between pig and cow manure.

Too, depending on humidity...if low, your olfactory mucous can be dry, (sense of smell function) thus aroma cannot penetrate neurons to brain(1st cranial nerve) as well as with humidified air.

I was immune to the smell of leather for many years. I worked with leather handbags in our family business and didn't notice or acknowledge the odor when entering the warehouse, others would exclaim how they loved that smell and I'd be thinking ''what smell?"
