I think it's great that an officer of the RCMP has stepped up, on behalf of Canadian Medical MJ user's. Chips a little more of the old stigma off all of us Medical MJ users.

Not to take away from the original article, BUT...

The bigger question is how did he get a prescription on Nov. 4, I thought all new applicants were halted as of Sept. 30. I have a couple friends that would love to hear they can still apply an get an exemption from the MMAR.

All they want or need is a possession license.

Than they just need to get a form filled like anyone else now.
Why anyone ever thaught it was a good idea to need to register with HC to use any medication is beyond me, n they've just proven with their mailing fiasco why it never was a good idea.
Form gets you your meds from a producer or can be used as is as proof of being a med user if you choose not to use an LP.

I have no issues with it as long as he or anyone else are not doing anything like operating machines/equipment that might hurt others. According to the occupational health and safety act the employer has to everything to make the work place safe, problem is if being high/stoned from weed or other drugs an employee causes some accident the employer already broke the law.

How does registering with a LP(Lousy Punk...lol) help anyone until they can supply some meds. As far as I know the protection/proof of being a legal Medical MJ users is the LP container/wrapper, this is what HC is saying. Only thing is, you can't buy from them because none of them have any stock for sale.

Kinda a catch 22 situation...You can buy from HC if you have an ATP, but you can't get an ATP anymore. So you need to register with a Lousy Punk(a LP) and purchase the needed Medical MJ from them, but they have no stock for sale yet...Pitiful, just plain Pitiful.

You would think, until these LP's are up and running without any glitches, people could still apply for and get an ATP from HC. I guess asking for reasonable from a government agency is just to much to ask or hope for.

A B2 form filled is just as much a proof as any silly assed company packaging n that's not even getting into the legalities of it just the common sense of the matter since that's all said company would need to ship the weed.
As others have said they're already shipping as soon as licensed to anyhow if you want that sort of proof of your medical condition.
They never had to shut down just to get licensed so could be many already producing n shipping immediately as they're licensed long as they're getting licensed b4 the end date, hence it being a "transition" not a stop n restart.

I went into the MMAR regulations and did some reading, as you sugjested. I found the answer to my question, clearly stated. Medical MJ can be accessed from Health Canada suppy or Register with a Licensed Producer. I'm understanding with the statement below, that APT from the MMAR are still available.

From the Regs of MMAR/Applying for the first time:

Please note that if you are applying for the first time, as of October 1, 2013, no new applications for Personal-Use Production Licence and Designated-Person Production Licence will be accepted and therefore there will only be two options - access via Health Canada's supply under the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations or registering with a Licensed Producer under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations.
