Hey folks,

I hope some of you are following my Grow Diary in the other forum. I wanted to throw this thread up since I'm a new timer to Coco and just converted the entire room over. After reading about it for several weeks I was confident I could perform well in it, and decided to just give it a go. This thread will be specific to the issues, questions, and impressions regarding Coco and I hope to learn a lot more about it from you veterans! The room has just been planted, so it's a great time to start the documentation!

Medium: 50/50 mix of Canna Coco and Fox Farm Perlite
Watering: Hand watering for first week of transplant. 1x watering for first 2-3 weeks of veg. 2x watering for last 2 weeks of veg. 3x watering for first 7 weeks of flowering. 2x watering for last 2 weeks of flowering.

I will continue to hand water these plants for about a week, then I will switch it over to the automated multi feeds once they have successfully transplanted.

FUCK! YES!

This is sex in its purest form. Loved your build thread in the other forum, Didnt know this was you're flower room! Pure tittydick. Im pumped.

What is that thing you use to mix your coco? I would love for a work smarter way to pot up 40+ plants. Im breaking my god damn back flushing and mixing 10 bags of coco at a time.

What genetics are you using? 12 - 1000w lights?

Dan,

Yeah the runoff goes straight onto the floor. The floor is built out of 2" x 6"s and 1" thick plywood. It is split in half, with each half at a downward slope towards the middle of the room. In the middle of the room, running the entire width, is a central gutter that collects runoff and channels it into the drain.

I can take more pictures if you like?

Dabs,

Thanks for the compliments. The mixer is a rotating composter for yard waste. It holds about 55 gallons of soil when filled up, which is great because it fills about 20 of my 3 gallons pots at a time. Mixing soil is my least favorite activity and this is a way to do it cleanly and efficiently.

The vast majority of the genetics are Mr. Nice Shark Shock. There is one tester light of (2) Purple Cadillac, (3) GSC, (4) Banana Kush, (1) KK Strawberry Cough.

This mine as well as many others dream in this forum I believe. My eyes are watering my throat is clogged as I sit here and ponder this beautiful room lol

Two questions for you?
1.How hard was it to wire everything to support a room like this?
2. How would you suggest small time grower to go about their dream of doing something on this scale and on to bigger scales as well?
Thanks!

I'm excited to see the growth of Coco, like I said this is my first time using it. It's the only variable I changed in the room, so I'll have a very good idea of its effects. So far the growth has been extremely quick though.

Thanks for the compliments. Wiring is not too difficult, but I leave the serious stuff to my electrician. I'm able to do almost all of it, but my electrician is an integral part of my organization and I give him as much work as possible. Also, everything is done to local electrical codes, which I am not educated on.

As for suggestions, I started just like everyone else. My first setup was a small 2400W. I moved to a 10x10 tent with 4000W shortly after learning everything I possibly could. The biggest suggestion I can give anyone is obey your counties laws 110%, never get greedy, and stay organized. If you don't break laws and use common sense there is no reason why you can't save and eventually have your dream setup.

Lookin good man! Can't wait to see the rest if the journey! C02 generator or tank?

Thanks for stopping in, the CO is from a adjustable Sentinel VCG-26 burner.

looks fantastic, some good momentum on those plants. have you done the same setup with 100% coco no perlite? i'd be interested to see how it compares in yeild. do you use perlite mainly to be able to feed more frequently throughout the day? i got some perlite but am not really a fan of prepping/mixing mediums, kinda lazy, so we'll see how that goes. k+

Perlite helps with drainage, and aeration of the media.. stop being lazy, use your damn Perlite!

Would love to see some more pics of the gutter drain. Its something all of us have to deal with one way or another in big rooms.

I have not done the same setup with 100% Coco. My previous soilless mix was 30g Perlite, 8g Promix, 6g FFOF, and a cup of Vermiculite. This is the first time I have ever used Coco. I was told by many that 50/50 should be the bare minimum ratio. And yes, I would never use any mix without a substantial amount of perlite because I treat it like hydro.

Good to hear! How often are you able to water using straight Coco and no perlite?

Going to chime in on the perlite thing as well.

Like an old member, dongle69 liked to say, perlite is a crutch! And she grew the shit out of some coco herbs.

No reason for it. you can feed multiple times a day with 100% coco. I've done both and will never waste time and money on perlite again.

Once roots are established in the pot you cannot over water, I don't care if you water ten times a day, it's just not going to retain enough water to cause problems. Every time you water you're just pulling more oxygen down into the root zone. It is what make coco so special.

If it's not too late dump out a pot and stick it back in straight coco and see for yourself.

Just my opinion anyway. Looking great, I'll be here watching.
