whether you're a hater of the holiday or joyful of the celebration of over indulgence with friends and family I wish you all well.

I miss the large family get-togethers back in NY, Long Island in particular, the last LI NY holiday that I was at was in '96, T-day '96. I'd even sit @ the kids table for another invite.

Been too long since I've broken bread with family, with two dogs and my miserable back I/we don't travel so well. Although Scooby is a loving well behaved pitbull, hotels discriminate against the breed, it sucks.


Anyway, I'm sure a bunch of you are traveling to visit friends & family and so I hope your travels are safe and uneventful and that all can gather back here in the Den to share some good vibes and spirits, maybe even a story or two.

You won't regret it but make sure to start early. I cooked my last two Turkeys in a smoker and come the normal typical dinner time they still weren't ready but when they were ready it was worth the extra wait

my dad was always the 1st to pass out after supper, but in defense of that he was also the earliest to rise and begin in preparation of the day, he was an excellent cook.

I am a direct descendant of two Mayflower passengers so today is a BIG family day where we focus on their journey more than anything else. We tell the story of their journey and arrival.

This year, I take over the story telling duties. Seems like my generation is becoming the carriers of the family torch/history now that both parents are in their 70's. Kinda trippy.

More Than A Day



As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we're poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,

We have friends and family we love;

For the wife

Because she is home with me

For the taxes I pay

For weariness and aching muscles

For the alarm that goes off

word of advice..... 4oz glass of Aloe juice / cut w/ 8oz of water... early in the day will help w/ the heartburn, and bloating .... come this afternoon.... best stomach meds ever
