4500W Black Dog Platinum XL-U - GSC, Headband, Diesel, Cannatonic, Trainwreck

Okay, first grow diary posted on here and mirroring off my blog - wanted to document my first run with LED lighting. Figured I would go big and run 6 Black Dog Platinum XL-U (750W true power per light) units over 3 4x8 tables in a run-to-waste feed system.
I will be turning on the 6k HPS lights in Hydrofarm Raptor hoods in another section of the room within the next two weeks.

The table farthest along spent the first 4 weeks under the HPS lights and then moved under the LED. The heat was affecting them already,but they are blowing out nicely still - especially under the canopy on the lower parts of the plants. By way of comparison, the first round of the GSC and Headband I did together under the HPS looked very similar in that regard, but pretty sure these are more resinous. Not sure if that can be attributed to the LED lighting or the stress of moving or what...but we will see soon enough. Safe enough to say that these are some trich covered buds in that tray though.

The center tray has 3 of the Arcata Trainwreck in the front, 12 Cannatonic (still have to determine the CBD profile on this pheno), and 3 Headband in the back. Those are on day 3/4 and seem to be adjusting to their new environment well.

The last tray were the first ones under the LED and after 10 days I have more than 1"/day growth on the Diesels and they haven't gotten out of control lanky. Again - no conclusive evidence of the LED here - but they look good.

I tried to color balance most of the pics properly so they weren't all purple/pink

Thanks! It's almost done - that is just over 1/3 of the space, 6 HPS' are almost done on the other side and should have plants under them next weekend. Sucks that I wasn't able to start them all on the same day for true side-by-side comparisons, but I'll time that properly here shortly.

Okay - fresh pics for Sunday. The table against the wall is at day 13/14 and the Diesels that are in the back half are growing well. I'd say they are stretching a bit less than under the HPS' given that with the size I put them in (way way way too big) and 14 days - they would be banging the lights all over by now normally. They have some decent structure to them too.

The Cannatonics are growing well too...almost up to the trellis now, so we should see some solid growth here in week two (although I have never grown any of Resin Seeds' Cannatonic before and understand there are a wide variety of geno & phenotypes, so we will see what she does. She's the first of my CBD collection in flower...many more will be going in shortly.)

Happy with these things so far...but it all really comes down to the nugs But I figure if they didn't make nice nugs, the table that was under the HPS' for the first 4 weeks wouldn't have developed the lower flowers like they have - and those on the Headband look like they do under my HID lights...so at least there is good penetration and they didn't puny out.

I should super-crop this one - but it's so pretty and I kinda want to see how close she can get to the LEDs before I see any burn or bleaching.

Okay - got the one table down and the flowers are covered in an excessive amount of trichomes. I am going to compare to some pics from the first time I ran the gsc forum cut and it graped out the same way and see if there is any visible difference side by side... at first glance though - way more trichs.

On the first table I got under the LEDs, I knew the plants were way too big when they went in, but wanted to experiment a bit too with how close they could get, what the lights performed like with a jungle canopy, etc. Well the Diesels finally banged into the light - and they will certainly burn the plant when they are touching the light itself otherwise the Sour does pretty well, pretty darn close...the Cookies seems to want to be a tad farther away...but good test either way as everything seems to be setting up as expected for the genetic.
The new tables under both the HIDs as well as the LEDs went in at about the perfect time for the space, so should be a much better analysis of the performance of the new lights. And there is a full table of Sour Diesel under 1k watt HPS' that are only about 4-5 days ahead of the few that just went into the new table under the LEDs (which has a few Sours, some GSC, a Headband and the first cut of the Ghost OG I am getting to run...(pretty f'n stoked about that one...it's been on the list for many, many years)).

Thanks Oneshot! They are coming up nice. I'll grab some more pics and vid tonight or tomorrow.
Crazy realization - but pretty sure that my girls that just go in only need water every other day for the first week or maybe 2 (top feed rockwool (cube on slab in the pot, croutons packed in surrounding the slab and cube), run to waste, layer of hydroton on the top of the rockwool to avoid algae and reduce transpiration). Didn't realize the LEDs would save on water and nutes too ...albeit I have to adjust my watering schedules.

Did you ever post the final yields from the first GSC run? Any comparison to HPS?
