Paraguay, Amsterdam, Africa, Middle East.... Tell me about Cannabis tourism

So I've always been interested in traveling the world looking for rare and amazing dank, both to smoke locally and hopefully source seeds from. This is something I'm going to try to do in the next 5 years and I want to do some research first. Just so you know I am from USA, so I'm specifically curious about countries who's population doesn't hate all Americans.... Hopefully there are still some of you left out there.

I've been reading that relations between Iran and USA have been getting better, anybody familiar with the Cannabis scene over there?? Would be AWESOME to get some Indica genetics from around that region..

I'm also curious about Paraguay, what with their recent legislation. Does anybody know if Paraguay has its own landrace genetics?? Or have they all been skunked like so many South American lines?

Not sure about Paraguay. Uruguay is fully legalized for personal use.

I'd stay away from war torn countries, or check out punishments. Some countries are quite harsh and unforgiving.

As for Nederland, numerous coffeeshops are closing due to being in close proximity of schools, but still plenty to find.

Ive been a lot of places around the world and I would advise you to steer clear of Arab or Muslem countries if you're gonna be messing with Canna. Their penalties for foreigners with drugs are usually VERY severe, up to and including the death penalty...

If you're looking for seed sources, like landrace strains, you might want to have a look at some of the "Strain Hunters" videos on YouTube. The Greenhouse coffeeshop crew go on expeditions to different countries looking for landrace genetics.
There are quite a few seed companies in The Netherlands that you could buy seeds from. It seems to me that there are just as many, if not more, strains available in the some of the US states. Happy hunting!

I'm going on a Caribbean cruise soon, and I've found that Central American countries in general are pretty draconian. Your best bets are Portugal or the African nations. More (unfortunate) information is available here.

Edit: known religious exemptions are in America and India.
Son of Edit: Mexico is now tolerant in small amounts.

As everywhere there is so much hypocrisy around the world and within the borders of individual countries...went to Cambodia many years ago and they guy behind the bar pulled the bin bag out and says yeah man weed is free here......it want surprising but still a good gesture. Miss South East Asia a far bit....
