you should see the fast guys going out...30+ mph for hours at a time, those guys can crank out some watts...im just getting into the interesting range now with the mileage i can do in a day, gaining the ability to sit in the saddle for hours and keep the pedals cranking over...the surly is more a just chug along sort of bike, good for covering distance if youre not in too big a hurry, especially towing a load...i never really feel like i absolutely have to stay on top of whatever gear im riding...im not really supposed to go fast on that bike, its for exploration and travel...thats why i have a road bike that only weighs 19 lbs...different forms of suffering...both fun...can hardly wait to get the next bike! this one will be a fat bike,a surly pugsly with 4 inch tires...they can pretty much go anywhere, not phased by deep sand or rocks or snow or anything you can pedal over...

You said the magic word: SUFFERING

I've observed that "the-willingness-to-suffer" trait is a very desirable trait to find oneself with. I myself am not a naturally talented athlete...but I do possess copious amounts of that willingness. It's a strange thing...pushing on in pain..keeps one in focus.

I'm in a constant state of being beat up...never not hurting somewhere. Never not working through an injury or a discomfort. Never physically 100%.

If ever comes a day..where I'm not hurting..then I'll know I stopped pushing

JM I'm finding that leaf trait in lots of the seedlings I've been running with sour or chem backgrounds. I havn't been sure if I'd infected all my stock or if it's a genetic trait....
I've been having a smoke every now and again as an instant cover up before driving only because I don't want to be pulled over reeking with sticky black fingers. Sometimes the school calls while you're trimming and you have to go pick up a sick kid, I know it's gross but cigs cover the odor fast...I'm too sensitive to use deodorant or man perfumes. I'd rather smell like a pig from a saltwater river bottom than Ralph Lauren...
Anyway I'm glad to see that trait popping in your rooms as it eases my mind a bit that I havn't destroyed all my stock from whipping out a cig if I need to drive sticky.
:tiphat:

LOL...I gave up deodorant a couple years ago. That stuff isn't good for us. I can sometimes...fucking stink..but I just take a whore's bath then. Can't stand man perfumes...don't even own any.

Yeah..I was reading that some growers actually tested Chem D for TMV...it came back negative. There was such great fear of the virus being in the Chems...that many were tossing plants.

I've seen it all the way back to Chem DD F1s...and from there...in many offspring where I used Chem DD as a parent. I really have to believe whatever the trait is...doesn't affect the health of the plants. Seems to disappear in flower.

Read where it was a sensitivity/deficiency related to Cal or Mag...something like that. Not saying that as gospel...just something that I've read.

yep, cyclist call that the pain cave or putting the ugly face on...

the chem line stuff i have going now is all showing a certain leaf crinkle too,not so much the cal/mag thing, maybe i just have that part dialed in or something...

The Roll has begun...

The Roll has begun...

I showed you all that flower yesterday...the one off a Mox Mox IX1

^ This morning she was harvested (day 65 flushing since day 47)...thusly...the roll has begun. She is the 1st of the mom's to come in.

^ one of her seeded buds...plump with new ideas...there are a couple flowers that were pollinated..so..plenty of beans.

^ her most toppest flower. Now...this girl was a super dark green all through most of flowering. She started to fade..in her 2nd week of flush...but by fade I mean..she just lightened up a little...didn't ever really go into autumn colors.

I've noted that many expressions when going through extended flushing (past 10 days) go into full panic mode..and never stop shooting out fresh growth. This plant...for example..was flushed just shy of 20 days...and you can see plenty of white attempts at new growth...yet looking deep into her and at her gland heads (even though I think gland color subjective)..she is plenty good. I'll show you pictures of her manicured buds..and you'll see what I mean.

I continue to flush with solid doses of Clearex the entire way through the flush process. I'm a believer in the acidic sugar wash. The 1st week of flush I feel the Clearex pushes them hard...the 2nd week they start to flush out...into the 3rd week it has changed the pH of the medium completely and effectively shuts most plants down. You must remember...I bottom feed through sprout/veg/flower...there is no run off...ever. It's all about transplanting....and finally...the forcing of everything to the surface. You must think differently....cut off/add things differently...have a light hand to bottom feed my way. Flushing is very important.

65 days...could have been 60 days or 70 days...I don't think there would be much a difference. I'd give her that entire 10 day window.I am not an anal harvester...you know what I mean?...I grow from seed..so this day or that day...which day is better...I'll never know..and in all honesty...I don't believe many people would ever know either..even if they could sit down with her over multiple clone runs. Shit man...60-70 through..pick a day..I picked 65 because it fits my rotation.

Speaking of which...she was replaced/reloaded by the Queen Mox Clone....how's that for your supper plates?

Flowers that will..

Flowers that will..

....fill your palate with surreal flavored funk...all the while..getting you mighty high

^ those are from the Mox Mox IX1 harvested yesterday. You could probably throw them at a wall..and have them stick. Wonderful.

* We are having a weekend of rain and cold. Was running off trail yesterday...way down deep in a drainage...crossing creeks..sliding off water smoothed rock. It's a whole different dimension to running. Been taking more falls...more bang ups. I'm sore this morning from having had my feet slip out from under me...while coming down a large..angled..boulder. Took that hit to my right hip...bounced right back up...before the pain set in...run it off run it off sonny boy

** all I have going on this weekend is running, harvesting, and trimming. It's a cool thing...harvest a plant in the early morning..then go run for a couple hrs..come home..build up a nice warming fire..then trim off and on..until I'm sick of doing it..or the task is done.

*** one thing I don't have much tolerance for: being rushed

got a day of trimming myself,or rather another day of trimming...and a grey cloudy day...i will have to see about riding though...need to spend some time cleaning and lubing the bikes, making sure everything is tight...finally seem to have whipped the knee pain...or at least got the cause figured out and dealt with.....funny how a tiny change in saddle height and relation to the handlebars can change everything...not to mention it puts you in a different position over the pedals and affects how the power gets transferred...getting close to really being in tune with the bikes....
the garden has been running super smoothly...lol,dont want to get too efficient there, someone has to trim all that bud! i think once i get my med paper work all done and approved im going to start looking for a trimmer....i know a single mom who im sure could use the work...

I'm beat the fuck up. Everywhere. Everything is cracking tight...compressed...or bruised up....abrasions..and the usual gashes/gouges/scratches. I'm hurting and this weather isn't doing much for my mood. Ran with a rain top yesterday...and I rarely do that..but cold rain and cold days..me don't do like the cold. I have no insulation.

* I run in my cut off shorts all winter...numbs up my knees

Suction Hose Mining Resin Glands For the Head

Suction Hose Mining Resin Glands For the Head

Took a few...mostly dry...little flowers for the vaporizer.

^ Flo dominant Mox Mox IX1. Has some of that dank undertone funk..but also a little like a root veggie may undertone...earthy. Not an overwhelming amount of flavor..fresh off the vine (- point)

The high...not so light..it's stoney not energetic. Could be me though...being so worked over

What do I really think...right now?

This expression is a piece of shit. It's not going to be great vape....and in a 5gal smart pot...with plenty of lumens..the yield looks like 1 single oz. That is just not acceptable. Fuck these things

Thus how subjectivity is born out of objectivity. Gardening is an emotional endeavor for me. If I hiss at a plant...that plant is fucked.

I won't tolerate plants that can't push. I don't accept it in myself...and I will not accept it in them.

What's Acceptable Jericho?

Lime. The Hell Hound IX1 lime expression. Totally acceptable...and I have yet to sample her. But I know already...the aroma is insane and she should follow hound trend...with that aroma transitioning over to flavor..if I'm wrong I'm wrong

^ She's my morning harvest. The lime expression day 62...flushed since day 45. Not the biggest...but not bad either..flimsy stinky stanky girl...this is the only plant that I put a star on (to watch/attracted my attention) back in her veg stage.

Wonderful Flowers

* showed a lot of intersex in weeks 3-4. After that..maybe 1 or 2 nanners were picked off during the rest of her life

** Partially pollinated for the Hell Mox build

having lived in alaska im an aficionado of high tech fabrics, and riding a bike of course theres a set of clothes specific to the winter months...i can float along in my own little warm bubble quite nicely...i love my leg warmers, easy enough to slip off when you get warmed up but surprisingly toasty in a wide range of conditions, and of course i have several pairs of overpriced bike shorts, but those are sorta crucial....lol,on a cold day i may have half the value of the bike on in clothing....

I totally hear you unc. I have a healthy collection of clothes for all my local weather conditions. The high tech stuff is great....that can not be denied.

Sometimes though...I run with a button up flannel on. Today I'll run in a long sleeve thin cotton top...with a long sleeve capilene top over that...beenie/gloves...calf sleeves...bring my rain top around my waist in case I get caught out there in the rain.

Gave up sunglasses at least a year ago...but should probably wear eye protection when running off trail. I do a lot of blind brush crashing. I'm eventually going to get very fucked up...get speared or go off a big boulder/bank/ledge

Running off trail is a whole new sport. Going to have to modify some clothing for it. Leg/arm sleeves..and leather gloves are advisable. Wouldn't mind something padded over my knees...and lol..a cup wouldn't be bad either...always crashing one arm over eyes..and one hand over my balls..

the brush around here is just brutal...rips you apart.

i here yah on the jingus brush,im sure you have catclaw out there too...
im about to get bike number three, this one will be a fat bike, one of the new generation of true all terrain bikes, pretty much capable of crossing anything you can keep pedaling through...i have seen pics of people riding them underwater, through deep snow and sand,mud,grasslands....well, pretty much everywhere....for that bike i may want to consider some form of armor against the desert...but in this case i think a pair of carhartts would do the trick best...maybe not in mid summer, but by then i want to have a good headlight system and a good gps and on bike racks and bags for ultra light weight camping and night riding when its cooler out....i have determined that im a pretty slow and not very rad mountain biker...i dont want to crash down crazy descents or go tear up the single track,i seem to be good at steadily churning along though...more interested in "i wanna go there"...the pugsly will expand the range of those places to practically anywhere...

Heading out. I've got a break in the clouds...and it's warmed up to 50 degrees. Just going to wear my cotton top then..but still beenie/gloves. Should be able to maintain good heat.

I started at 136 lbs yesterday....finished at 133 lbs. 2 hr run in the mid 40's

I don't feel like doing this at all...but that just doesn't matter. While everyone stays hunkered down...I'll train. It's the only way I have a chance at getting good.

I'll vape up some of that Flo dominant Mox...see if it can motivate me any...have about 1000 annoyances body wise

Sunday Morning is every Sunday Morning

Sunday Morning is every Sunday Morning

My indoor studios are turning over...as rapid fire as..I can recall. Shit is flying by me...shit is placed..array of shit everywhere. Samples labeled by scrawls or in my head

^ Samples of Hell Hound IX1 expressions (the early samples) of the "Lime" (bottom) and the "Vine" (top). The lime..as I've shown...is harvested..while..the vine continues on for a couple more days

Have this Bolt/Chief game on...both the wife and I...have just finished a vapor bowl each of the lime. I knew it...the aroma transitions directly to flavor. A high lime/lemon rises just above sweet bubblegum funk. Head is not direct..creeping up on me. Very nice.

favorable..desirable expression. New find in the Hounds. Really enjoyed cultivating this plant...glad I used her to mother beans.

* There is another Hell Hound IX1..which is partially pollinated...and she to...is going to be a new find. So far..the Hell Hounds are surprising me more than the Mox Mox..but it's not over yet

Going to give it a while...then vaporize a bowl of the vine...see if I have one of those vine rocket ships.

seemed like i was just cranking it out over the summer, but i suppose thats just a reflection of the increase in pot size, really only harvesting one 4x4 area a month now...does tend to make the trim sessions a bit more epic than i might like...but having a day off the bike really seems to have put this last bit of knee pain behind me...got out for a short snowy ride today..put the knobbies back on,time for some off road work, need to get my mountain biking technique more polished before i spend another 1800 on a new bike....

Tell you dude: I don't have to trim that much...but trimming is really uncomfortable when I'm this beat up from the trails. Feels like my entire body is constricted...sore..and tight. Swear the only thing that kills the discomfort is going back out..and running.

It's like a doctor who keeps you sick...so that you are dependent on his wears. The trails make me feel better..but then tear me up some more. It's a full circle kind of deal. I wouldn't say that everything I'm doing...as far as training...is healthy. It's an addiction...so there are costs

* I didn't feel like training yesterday...but I totally killed it. I ran really well...got in the trance..swam in and out of pain...dealing with it. Breathing + Form = Focus Drive Victory

today I'm beat to fuck again

yeah,i love to bitch about trimming...oh no! i have to spend time in a comfortable chair listening to music while i basically make 400/hr...oh woe is me! yeah,i crack myself up sometimes...im glad, even if it came later in life, that i finally realized what a noodge i had been throughout most of my existence...i guess the sense of impending mortality and whatnot will do that to a fella...but i think you will understand this, endurance sports leave you with a lot of time to think....when you hit that state where the legs are just sort of doing their thing and you're breathing without effort in perfect sync to your effort, and doing it all in a sort of unconscious/hyper aware way,it leaves your mind free to wander....especially when your pushing and trying to quiet all the yelling from your legs and back and whatever happens to be screaming in pain the loudest, and coming up against previous barriers and continuing to push beyond the wall once again....turning yourself inside out to find that last scrap of energy...
well you start to realize most of our barriers in life are self imposed...once you start breaking them down it expands your horizons..out to infinity...

the bikes, the gardens....all tools for exploration....

Revelations: The Birth of Hell Mox

Revelations: The Birth of Hell Mox

You saw it here 1st

^ On the left is a bean from the "Lime" Hell Hound IX1 expression and on the right is a bean from the "1st" Mox Mox IX1 expression

Guess you would have to get into an unknowing mindset to grasp on to this project..

'cause like I mentioned before: it's all in the blended pollen. To know a "true" Hell Mox will be harder to determine...but not at all impossible. If you use beans from a certain Mox Mox or Hell Hound mother...and you see plants that do not express in line with the mother's genetics...then you know you are (close enough) seeing plants influenced by the other line.

For example..using this round of Hell Hound IX1 (because Hell Hound to.. was made with blended pollens) plants

1. I used only beans coming from the OG Jam expressed moms in this round. No Odessa expressed moms were used at all.

2. I have a "Vine" expression which is an Odessa expression. Therefore..she would be a true Hell Hound. The "Lime" expression is also a true Hell Hound.

3. I have another Hell Hound IX1...which expresses like the OG Jam stuff..so whether she is a true Hell Hound would be harder to determine.

I have to figure...as I plan on working Hell Mox down many generations...that eventually the percentages will be in favor of most plants existing as....true Hell Mox. In this process...blended pollen is not that big of a deal...unless you are one of those...who just has to know every exact detail..of when and what has actually happened.

Never know..but could be something when certain IX beans crossover (o...I like that: crossover)...to become Hell Mox. I mean an actual IX could go several generations (or for infinity) before the percentages catch up...and it is touched by the other lines' pollen grain...some will be more like 1/2 breeds...example could be a Mox Mox IX2 X Hell Mox F1 and more than..a few other combinations....if you think on it..boggles the mind...but eventually...eventually they will come into their own giant mash...and I'll have no way of knowing when (which run) or what (generation) it all happened...as the genetics of each individual bean..can be its own thing. You see? It's based on the belief system...that there is no order.

Blended pollens...are a worthy concept..as long as you love the lines...and trust in them. Trust disorder is not the great scare.

Amen! I mixed some BSv2 pollen with some old {frozen a few years} Federation Romulan dust, gifted from a friend...onto
my SDIBLxSFVOG BX. Only popped two and got one female...this gal...
