Looking for nutrient and additive help... soiless veg+blooom

I've just finished setting up my tent and received my seeds. (bogglegum and critical+ auto) Being very anxious to start growing I've had to restrain myself from germinating them because I am very intent on having everything ready and a solid plan before I start. I have an awful time making up my mind about nutrients, when I read about organic mixes I decide to do that, when I read about hydroponics I decide to do that so this has taken longer than I would have liked to get going. I'm running the Critical + auto first just to get a harvest ASAP and I'm going to start the Bogglegum when the Critical starts to bud. I have decided to put them directly in 3 gallon pots full of pro mix and perlite. I received a free sample of Veg+bloom soft water. (which was stupid because I haven't tested my water, Just ordered a blue lab truncheon so ill know soon). I also bought a bottle of florablend. because this is my first post I feel it necessary to say that I HAVE spent hours and hours reading on this site. I have grown a few times and have done a lot of research but there is a lot of stuff to take in! I get overwhelmed, distracted and I more often than Id like to admit, get confused. So I apologize for dumb newbie questions and I apologize if this stuff has been asked before. also I apologize for rambling I'll get to the point. I Want to know If I can use the florablend with the veg+bloom? is there other stuff I should get? (rooting enhancers, bloom boosters, sweeteners etc...) If theres something that will enhance the quality, and or the quantity of my buds I feel like its worth it. I've been looking at Koolbloom and floralicious plus if anyone has opinions) I know veg+bloom is supposed to have everything a plant needs so maybe I'm wasting time but I'm interested in ideas... If I find that I have hard water will that make my free sample useless? Also if anyone has any tips about critical or autoflower id appreciate it. when do you change to flower nutes? will I have to buy an expensive pH meter to go with my truncheon or can I get by with a cheap thing or do I not need one at all I saw one thing that said Veg+bloom pH is all set. thank you in advance for any help I get!

what up my man since no ones responded yet ill try to help out as much as I can. I have heard people using the florablend alone during veg with pretty good results. I think it has close to the same ratio as the 6/9 micro/bloom formula I use currently. I would def get a good ph meter that is key !!! it will save you so many problems down the road. I hear bluelab is solid and its backed with a five year warranty so how could anyone not love that. Definitely get a good waterproof one that reads ppms as well. PPMS is key as you dont want to burn your babes. keep the ppms real low for seedling I definitely wouldnt go above 150-200ppm thats just me. I dont go over 700 ppm with my full grown veggers even and there perfectly happy. I wouldnt start in 3 gallons either try something smaller. with seeds Ill put them in small dixie cups and then let them veg for a week or two and put em in a 1 gallon to veg for the rest of the time until bloom. 3 gallon for vegging is a little big in my opinion. Just try to keep it simple and get a feel for what your plants like. It wont be perfect this round so dont get your hopes up to high. maybe keep a couple extra beans so that if this round doesnt work out you still have the genetics. As for flowering I use koolbloom and thats it as a flowering supplement. I think I covered a good amount so far if you got any more ?'s let me know. just post away im here to help and other will chime in as well. Welcome to ICMAG

If you have hard water id recommend getting the hard water version. As for your nute choice, I've heard mixed reviews. I love house and garden. Ive tried many lines and it has been solid for me in soil and hydro both. As for boosters, there are a few i swear by. House and gardens Roots excelurator is liquid gold. Its expensive but the dose is low and its amazing. If i changed all my nutes id still run that. I also love their budxl and their drip clean. I run those no matter what. I do not recommend their amino treatment or their multi zen. Advanced nutes has a great sweetener called bud candy i love. They also have an all organic booster called nirvana i really LOVE. I run Moab(mother of all blooms) as a hardener during week 6-7. If you run those boosters with just about any base i almost guarantee your product will be excellent. Remember most nute lines want you to use more than you need. For example, house and garden(aqua flakes) recommends from week 1-9 that i go from 6.5ml per gallon up to 11.5 ml per gallon. I used to run that exact amount and yields suffered and leaves tips would burn slightly. Now i run 5-8ml per gallon depending on the week and my plants are happier and better yielding with no burning at all. I recommend a 2 week flush. Always monitor ph. In soil ideal runoff ph is 6.2-6.4. So your nute mixes ph should be higher than that going in(organic soil lowers ph). With your soilless mix you should treat it like hydroponics. Your nute mix should be the exact ph you want your runoff to be.(your soilless medium should not reduce ph). In hydro, ideal ph is 5.8-6.2. Gradually increasing between those numbers as the weeks progress is a good idea. For example, if you're in hydro, weeks 1-3id run 5.8. Then, weeks 4-6 run, 6.0, then from 7 on run 6.2. This allows for the correct nutrient uptake at the correct times. Theres a million things id love to share but its too much to even write. If you have issues the infirmary is very helpful on here. To prevent pests i HIGHLY recommend running a foliar of neem oil at 1oz/30ml per gallon with pro-tekt(silica/emulsifier) at the same dosage. Sometimes i mix this foliar with a product called sm-90 from nutrilife. It smells amazing and is a great emulsifier and bug preventative. You can add up to 1/5 part sm-90 but theres no need just a splash is all i use. I like to use this foliar a lot during veg and flowering during weeks 1-4. This foliar will keep bugs away and prevent powdery mildew and mold. If you happen to get powdery mildew, i recommend a product called eagle 20. Many will bite my head off here because it is a systemic inorganic pesticide but coming from someone who tried everything else and couldn't get rid of it, this was the ultimate solution. It stays within the plant for up to 60 days so hitting them once with it as a foliar at 1-2ml per gallon at 4.5-5.5 ph(very important) allows you to NEVER worry about powdery mildew through the entire flowering period. Anyway, i wish you the best of luck. Over the years i went from being super into all organic soil methods to ending up strictly hydro in rockwool. I love the simplicity and consistency. Any questions feel free to ask.

Crooked knows his shit no doubt but dont you think thats alot to take in crooked nutrient wise ? I think hes looking for something more simple. Ive heard people just using florablend alone but you should read some threads on here about it. Crooked is def on point about checking your water Id personally get a filter like a hydrologic small boy at least I use a RO filter but im picky. Some people are blessed with great tap water so hopeflly thats you. Maybe crooked could hook you up with a simplified nute schedule. But I can tell you that buying expensive nutes isnt what gets you quality results its about experience and being able to read your plants. As time goes youll get better and better and the results will show. Def stay on top of conditions and pests as crooked touched on. Youll have a run in with all types of bugs and create an IPM program that works best for you. Crooked whats your nute line and set up looking like out of curiosity ? I do love me some drip clean too

House and garden flakes a and b, 6-8ml per gallon. Cal mag(which i forgot to touch on) at 3-5 ml per gallon through veg and weeks 1-7. Roots excel(weeks 1-4), bud xl(weeks 5-8) top booster(last 2 days of week 5) and drip clean(at all times other than flush) all at slightly under their recommended dosages besides the roots and drip clean. I use advanced nutes bud candy weeks 1-6 and nirvana weeks 3-6 at slightly under their recommended dosages. I use the moab weeks 6 and 7 at 1ml per gallon. Week 8 i only give the bud xl and drip clean for a few days then i run staight ro phd to 6.2 for 10-14 days. I take all my strains to 63-67 days on average. Theres another thing i use i keep under wraps. I agree if the lineup i suggested is used at full strength it could run hot. However, i haven't seen any real issues as long as the plants are kept in an ideal environment. They love what i give em. If the op wants to keep it simple i suggest a base, some cal mag and some bud xl with the bud candy as a carb. That alone will give decent product, but if you spent the money on the nutes its likely to pay for itself in quality of product and yield. I dunno maybe i threw too much at him heh.
