To all of our College Division members,
the standard-bearers of wisdom,
I hope that you take the lead in this new era
by putting fresh new ideas and thoughts into action.
Study this ultimate philosophy as hard as you can,
and spread it far and wide
by spontaneously and unreservedly talking to others about it

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! Everyday, Everywhere we go!

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! Everyday, Everywhere we go!

Hosting the first of three scheduled tosos for this auspicious month tonight. Starting a business that originated with daimoku and my hope to spread goodness and kosen-rufu throughout the world. School is going better than ever. So yes, once again my chanting growing friends, WINTER TURNS INTO SPRING!

Let's all keep studying the Goshos, Orally Transmitted Teachings and the guidance from this thread and its predecessor! Our faith is the guiding light in this world and Nichiren Daishonin established the Gohonzon for our happiness in the present! Please make sure you're chanting to your Gohonzon or getting one. I've got friends that chant and that helps me keep introducing others to the practice.

Please be happy, Please continue to go forward and please remember to keep me updated! Although I haven't had much time to post, I've been here everyday for over 7 years now!

PLEASE BE HAPPY!

By considering the magnitude of the punishment suffered by those who harbor
enmity toward the Lotus Sutra, we can understand the magnitude of the benefits
obtained by devoting oneself to it.

How wondrous it is that, around two hundred years and more into the Latter Day
of the Law, I was the first to reveal as the banner of propagation of the Lotus
Sutra this great mandala that even those such Nagarjuna and Vasubandhu,
T'ien-t'ai and Miao-lo were unable to express. This mandala is in no way my
invention. It is the object of devotion that depicts Shakyamuni Buddha, the
World-Honored One, seated in the treasure tower of Many Treasures Buddha, and
the Buddhas who were Shakyamuni's emanations as perfectly as a print matches its
woodblock.

"The human spirit is the strongest force there is. As long as our spirit remains
unbroken, there is no defeat. In life, spiritual defeat always precedes actual
defeat. Guard against laziness, cowardice, carelessness, impatience, resignation
and despair which corrode the human spirit and sow the seeds of defeat."

"Buddhism is wisdom. As long as we have wisdom, we can put all things to the best
use; we can turn everything in the direction of happiness."

"To be fearless no matter what happens -- that is the root of true happiness. To
move forward resolutely regardless of what lies in store -- that is the spirit,
the resolve, that leads to human victory. But if we allow ourselves to be
disturbed by petty criticism and slander, if we fear pressure and persecution,
we will never advance or create anything of lasting value."

Chanting brings good luck and helps to avoid misfortune.

Buddhist principles teach us how our actions determine our future with cause and effect.

The Buddha returns repeatedly to show us the way to love and respect others.

The fire in the form of a Comet shows us that we are all in the same boat together.

Kosen Rufu is almost here... *bows to Mother Earth*

A message may be deduced from some crop circles depicting the Comet Ison orbiting our Sun this Thanksgiving. The positions of the planets depicted in our Solar system proves the date depicted is now.

The message shows the comet emerging from close behind the Sun in four pieces!

I wonder if it will. They don't show it hitting us or anything like that but if this happens it proves someone knows the future.

What ever comes is ok with me. Ya know if we saw our doom approaching there would be little to do but party. Nothing can defeat the one consciousness we all share even with the animals. Even with aliens...

For my part I watch and chant. NamMyohoRengeKyo and I really mean it.

Always walk in the light...Be the Buddha! :). Bog

Happy November 18, the founding of the Soka Gakkai Day. This great organization has propagated many Bodhisattvas that have cast off the transient to attain and release their true nature.

The lineage goes like this:

Nichiren to his followers,
Nikko (Nichiren's direct disciple) to Nichimoku,
Nichimoku to many subsequent priests,
Those priests to Makiguichi,
Makiguichi to Toda,
Toda to Ikeda,
Ikeda to Matsuoka and Osaki,
Matsuoka and Osaki to PasstheDoobie,
PasstheDoobie to Babba,
The Babbas to Me,
Me to Many friends!

2 young friends joined the SGI through my daimoku and support locally this year. I'm hoping to at least introduce another 2 million to the practice!

Let's all be grateful that we are part of this unbroken lineage of bold successors to kosen-rufu. Let's all continue to share the wisdom from this thread and its predecessor! Let's all remember to base our guidance and encouragement on the Gosho's and not an inferior teaching. On this site, it doesn't matter if you have 1 post or 100,000, even someone with many posts may lead another person in the wrong direction. Let's be brave in our studies so that we continue to cast away the bullshit and focus on the important aspects (i.e. chanting daimoku to the Gohonzon).

Please visit an SGI meeting and get your Gohonzon, please help build the future we all chant for and hope for everyday! Let's keep doing it together everyday!!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I am still and always will be grateful for this thread and its predecessor, especially for all the participants throughout the years of my involvement (before and after as well).

I had no idea that I would be living out my dreams in the year 2013 and look forward to continually doing the same as my life forces flow from matter to energy back to matter then energy continuously. While I'm on this planet my main mission is simply to advocate all reasonable and value creating means towards supporting kosen-rufu or the wide spread practice of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to the Gohonzon.

I really wish that all of you give the SGI a try in regards to attending a meeting. Put all your personal encumbrances aside during your meetings and actualize my hope for each of you to receive a Gohonzon.

:artist:Create your chosen destiny and please let me know if I could help! We all owe each other a tremendous debt of gratitude for sharing this existence. Please be confident in knowing that all you need to do is make the causes towards chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo in your living space and realize those intended effects. When I first asked Babba and PTD, "is it ok to just chant, with nothing in mind" they both told me chanting is great anytime, any place, anyway. So do it the best way you know how!

"THERE is no true happiness for human beings other than chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. The sutra reads, “. . . where living beings enjoy themselves at ease.”1 How could this passage mean anything but the boundless joy of the Law? Surely you are included among the “living beings.” “Where” means Jambudvīpa, and Japan lies within Jambudvīpa. Could “enjoy themselves at ease” mean anything but that both our bodies and minds, lives and environments, are entities of three thousand realms in a single moment of life and Buddhas of limitless joy?2 There is no true happiness other than upholding faith in the Lotus Sutra. This is what is meant by “peace and security in their present existence and good circumstances in future existences.”3 Though worldly troubles may arise, never let them disturb you. No one can avoid problems, not even sages or worthies." (The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, pg. 681 "Happiness In This World")

One should also have a correct understanding of
the country. People's minds differ according to their
land. For example, a mandarin orange tree south of the
Yangtze River becomes a triple-leaved orange tree if it
is transplanted to the north of the Huai River. Even
plants and trees, which have no mind, change with their
location. How much more, then, must beings with minds
differ according to the place

When we look from time to time at a person's
face, we find him sometimes joyful, sometimes enraged,
and sometimes calm. At times greed appears in the
person's face, at times foolishness, and at times
perversity. Rage is the world of Hell, greed is that of
Hunger, foolishness is that of Animality, perversity is
that of Anger, joy is that of Rapture, and calmness is
that of Humanity. These worlds, the six paths, are
present in the physical appearance of the person's face.
The remaining four noble worlds are hidden and
dormant and do not appear in the face, but if we search
carefully, we can tell that they are there.

"Life flashes by in an instant. By
devoting our lives to Buddhism, we will live a life of
complete fulfillment. We are selling ourselves short if we
fail to attain such a wonderful state of life."

"Shijo Kingo, a person of strong faith,
was at one point envied and slandered by others,
earning the disfavor of his lord. But later he received a
new estate from him. In modern terms, we might say
that Shijo Kingo scored this victory by showing
wonderful actual proof of faith at his place of work. The
test of faith is winning in daily life and society,
since that is where Buddhism finds expression"

But what about the Church founded by Jesus.
What about his Holy Priests like Fr Ignatius of Airmaria.
If you are right then he is a fool.

Rude newbie, the bible says call no man a fool.

Many truths exist and if you were to read the Sutra of Jesus, his Sermon on the Mount you would hear many truths also believed by other religions and philosophy's.

In this thread we discuss Buddhism and I am sure Jesus would be welcome.

But we do have our foolish moments to be forgiven for. Just try chanting this big word newbie. NamMyohoRengeKyo...with respect we humbly bow.
