What kind of halide bulb did you use?
use a MH 4000Kbulb
this is what you want.
as for ripening, check out my post, #618 in this thread.
in my tsi fly/OT X IBG grow the Mh plants were finishing way ahead of the HPS plants.
Ive use solar max and sunmatser Mh 6400K/7200K in bloom
small buds
small yield
get the 4000K sylvania 1000w BT56... $25
this is what i got using it on mosca's tsi fly and old time indianna bubbagum

honestly. the gnome has convinced me to give it a try.. so this is whats going to happen.. im bout to harvest. once I get rid of a few quik zips.. im going to make the flipbox.. and put up another room. then 1 room is going to be mh 4000k 3 1000w an the other room im going to take suggestions for the HPS bulb used.. as long as its not fuckin ridiculous prices.. the mhs are 25 each.. so ill spen 50 to 75 each for hps MAX.. if I have to go over 3 times the amount then its not worth it .. kuz if the mhs LOSE to a 150 dollar bulb I don't care.. I want to see if u can get a cheap HPS and CHEAP MH which will do better
I've been thinking of mixing my spectrum for flower for a while, finances are holding me back tho. Presently I run a 600 + another 400 HPS over flower, and 400MH on a light mover over vege.
My idea is to hang both flower bulbs in a single hood on a mover, swap the 400 HPS for another MH ( so 600 HPS and 400 MH in flower) but rather than both lights turning on at the same time, I want to turn the MH on 45 minuets after the HPS comes on, then off 45 before.
Any one got any thoughts on that?

if you have a 400 watt HPS mag ballast? a 400 watt CMH bulb (4000k)
would do that deed...it's how the CMH sticky thread started
Yeah, it's the sun system hood and ballast in one thingy, too damn heavy for a mover.

I have a 3200k mh bulb on order. I'm in week 5 of flower using a 600 with a hortilux hps. Will be swapping it out for a 1000w. Can't wait to see what happens.

Done. Plants don't seem to mind.
when I used 400 hps and halide from electrical store the hps won yield wise. long time ago tho. mh plants were shorter and seemed to have more resin, hps yielded more. I was back east an an oz was 320 an up. I stopped using the halides in the one flower area. I don't remember how much but it must of been enough . someday I will retry it tho
the 600 and 400 in a hood has been done before. good combo. no input on the light schedule. haven't tried it and don't know anyone who has

so if ur looking to use just MH wat K. should we look for.
I tried it and it seems like they take longer to start flowering with MH, similar for you?

So there's a lot of different types of halide bulbs out there. If you can remember please do share what bulb you used. Vape is getting awesome and trouble free results and others are having problems. I'm curious why.

Yeah it's a 4000k and another guy who was doing the 3200k said he's been getting great results for about 10 years now.

to be honest.. I don't know what K bulbs I used for MH. I think that it took an extra 2 weeks..
the buds were smaller.. and iuno about more resin.. kuz honestly.. u cannot tell much from looking at them.. just u gota look at Test results to see if there is really a difference or not..
the 2 extra weeks really pushed me away from MH.. kuz im trying to keep harvests coming in a week or 2 before I run out.. so with the MH it made me run out of buds.. then harvested a week later..
iuno im one of those growers that likes Couchlock from indicas.. and as heady as I can with sativas.. so I let me indicas go longer.. and sativas go longgg.. lol and that's how I like my bud.. I like to have stuff I can smoke and do nothing.. and stuff I can smoke and go hiking.

So the 600w hortilux was making some of the leaves turn yellow at the tops. I put the 1000w mh bulb in a few days ago and have seen a little improvement in health. The new leaves at the flower tops are green again and have nice trichomes. My plants just weren't liking the hps I guess. They're bubblegum from Serious. Bud production has not halted. Nothing changed and they look nice. I harvest on December 13 so I'll contribute what useable data I can from that and I'll keep updating if anything weird happens.
