Cloning flowering plant?

Hi,
I'm doing my first selective-grow to choose a pretty momma.

The strains are AK47 (SeriousSeeds) and JaggenRemember. I've vegged them for 4 weeks then i've cut clones from every top and also from a side branch of each plant. Then i vegged them one more week before i started the flowering period.

Of course the clone of the strongest and best plant (from which i've just cut one clone) didn't root.

Now i thought about making a new cutting of the plant an put it under 20/4. The plants are flowering for 3 weeks.

My question now is if this will work the way i planned it. Will the cuttings root? Is 20/4 appropriate? Would 18/6 do it too?

Everybodys help or advice is welcome!

18/6 will work. I have successfully cloned more than one strain that were three weeks into flower, from both outdoor and indoor plants. 18/6 for a light cycle will be just fine, it works for me.

Cool, thanks! I will start right away!

I wanted to make three or more cuts to be sure about saving that phenotype. But isn't it possible that it affects the plant by causing too much stress because of the cuts? I mean it would really suck if she would turn into an hermie...

Frank2 is correct.

Unless she is freaky unstable taking cut from the lower branches should cause no problems.
I like to trim off any signs of bud and give them at least 24 hours of darkness before 18/6

Which effect do those 24h of darkness have?

Well, conclouding what i've read about the ak, i don't think it's unstable at all. I will look for branches with less flowers so i won't need to trim the clones more than necessary.

a dark period seems to make it switch to and from flower quicker. I used to reveg my rooms.
Good plan the AK I ran was very stable. 3 weeks and not a lot of trim nessary.
Good luck

just rooted 2 cuts from a plant 45d in on ~90 flower cycle and they rooted faster than SSH / SLH ECSD than were taken the same day.

it should take 3 wks to start growth and it will be re-veg single blade leaves showing at first and she will branch more than the doner plant.

I wait to trim any bud until growth starts but its just how ive done it. my rh is low so mold or rot is not an issue but it gets trimmed as growth starts.

ill try and post pics of the rooted clones w/buds on it.

peace
