I see a couple kinds of bug there, the little white one is harmless.

The other one? Doesn't look quite like an aphid, fungus gnat nymph??, just hatched from pupil stage?

I could venture some guesses, but the point is that something is killing his plants at a critical stage.

I would proceed with a kill RA strategy. You've got Botanigard on hand. Start using it intensively. Check to be sure it has a good date on it. Use it at 2 Tbl/gal, or for Liquid 4 tsp/gal to give the medium, roots, and container a 30 minute soaking with the entire container below water level. Let drain. Carefull not to water/feed again too soon. The rootball will be really saturated. After that, hand water weekly with botanigard. Ample runoff. Keep in mind that Botanigard is not a contact kill. You apply it, the spores germinate, it attaches to and grows on the target pest. It works and works well.

You'll need to attack with something else. The most benign tool especially at your stage, and maybe the most effective is Beneficial Nematodes. If your local store receives them and they sit in the fridge for a week, a large percentage will have died. Get them from Buglogical.

Use overwhelming numbers. Follow directions closely.

These two tools should get you through harvest just fine. This has worked well for me with no RA damage. Good luck. -granger

The white one is a soil mite and is harmless. It is not a bulb mite. It is more than likely an Oribatid mite or Astigmatid mite, which includes the family Histiostomatidae mites. I suspect many mites we see are from the Histiotomatidae family.

However their are thousands of species of these mites and a 100% ID is unlikely unless you research for a living and even then it's not easy or always possible.

I have done quite a bit of research on these things and I am 100% sure that it is a harmless soil mite. There are several hundred species of mites that live in peat bogs. They can thrive in watery environments and some are even aquatic.

These mites feed on fungus, bacteria, decaying matter, etc. If you are having issues and you see these motes it means they are they are probably there to feed on the waste created by the real culprit, some sort of root pathogen.

Root pathogens can be caused by yet another culprit like fungus gnats. And mites are phoretic, meaning they hitch rides on other animals or anything really to move from place to place. Soil mites are attracted to fungus like pythium and fusarium. And FGs help spread disease as well as the mites that clean up the waste.

Whatever they are they are killing my plants . Leaves start to yellow from the bottom then it moves up the plant quickly, they will drop 10 - 20 leaves over night.

Something else is killing your plants and the mites are doing clean up. (assuming the dead ones are irrelevant). I looked at your albums. The "bugs" are Oribatid mites. It looks like you have more than one species. Go research them. They come in a lot of different shapes and colors but that's what they are.

I have been down this road, in a rdwc system in 5 gal buckets like yours. You have a root issue. And as hard as it may be to accept at the moment, the mites are simply there because of the problem. It could be caused by many things. I had to switch growing styles because the issue was in the system and kept coming back.

What STRAIN are you growing?super lemon haze this time
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)seed
What is the age of your plants?8 weeks

What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?flower
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)5 gal
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)1 part ocean forest 1 part promix 1/2 part perlite
What brand Nutrient's are you using?technaflora I just started using this on this grow
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* 1/2 dose
How often are you feeding?every third watering
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?2nd week
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?around 7-8 hundred

Your plants look pretty good to me. The leaves that are yellowing and dropping are as much as 4' below the lamp. Their yellowing, and dropping is normal. Looking at the pics, I don't see any signs of "dying." Relax and enjoy. Good luck. -granger

Bulb mites do have reddish legs and a pearl colored body, which can spread disease and some slight root damage. But usually not that dramatic unless you're growing bulbs. Still looks like an Oribatid mite and not a Root Aphid.

Oh yeah, I tried to kill soil mites when I got em. Doesn't work, even with all this...notice the Pylon, that costs $400 USD per pint and is the BEST miticide on the market, that's approved for for veggies.

So did you have these problems before you built your RDWC? How was your grows before when you weren't in this system? Did your RDWC work good for a while and then go to shit or have you got poor results from the get?

Killing them with love,

Back off a bit! Dropping mad chemicals on flowers to kill BENIFICIAL bugs is madness! And its useless to boot, all your doing is hurting your girls.

The rest of your stats look pretty good, unless we are missing something in the in answerd questions.

FWIW, an old school grower gave me a nugget of info that helps a ton,......

"Old leaves are old news"

How hard is this condition hitting your NEW growth?
