two packs 95% males

just started 20 more, hopefully better luck this time. From now on if I buy og rascal I'll stick with fems. I thought about making seeds but I worry about seeding all my other plants.

^I've always felt there's something to that as well. I also grow in tents that are in close proximity and I get a lot more males now then I did when I had the luxury of separate areas.

They probably shouldn't have to be flowering either, just females, now that I think about it. Years ago I was told by an older grower not to germ within 25 feet of flowering females, but I just chalked it up to kookiness, until I remembered morphogenetic fields. If plants can "sense" each other, a room full of females might influence the sex a bit. Maybe germing in a veg tent with a bunch of females is a bad idea.

It would be cool to try germing half a pack in room with males, and the other half with females, and see what kind of ratios you get.

they say that environment plays a role .. I wonder how this really works.. how does a seed pick which sex it will be . or is every seed predisposed to be male or female?

I found when working with a small number of seeds its better to just get female seeds, much less disappointing that way. I don't believe seeds germinating close together makes any difference when using regular seeds.

What are the odds of getting 22 seeds and 21 males. Started 11 fire alien urkles, and 11 fire alien masters and ended up with one urkle female out of the bunch. I always get 50 50 or better with seeds. Anyone had this happen?
pop quiz ,I saw another of your post talking about twins and then saw this post ..

a few questions

soil or hydro ?

if soil do you use your old soil over again in the seedling stage ?

the reason I ask .. is if your plants get big and you harvest , a full size plant will take only what it needs from the soil and ferts .. and what's left behind in the soil can change the normal development of a seedling
in some cases all the seedlings in the grow area if they are all grown in the same soil and if its the soil causing it ,you may see the same in more then one strain base with in a given grow area ...some still think it could be caused by variations in ground water but ether way this is a area to look at in your own grow environment

let me add one more thing to this reply . there is a thing called flip flop, what this is , is when a strain is developed it is as you said above . 50/50 most of the time with their gender casting ..
but in this there is a smaller group of flip/flops . they can react to a given grow and flip or flop ether way , most don't under stand the true meaning of flip / flop . flip is gender and purities and flop is strain qualities and traits ,if your plants are flipping . this means their gender is not stable for some reason with in your grow environment ....often temps or water of ferts .. or light cycle

I use soil, and its always new. I run bio canna with bio terra plus. The twin came from RD's the ox. Ive been doing the same thing for awhile now and this is the only time Ive got so many males. My lucks been really crappy lately in general so I'm gonna chalk it up to that. I really had a good feeling about those two strains, and am thinking about trying again. The urkle really caught my interest.... Just don't want to waste any more money.

high bro!

sounds very strange to say the least... are you using a "hot" soil for germinating the seeds??? often if the soil contains alot of nutes it may induce a high rate of males. also lights emitting a high ammount or red (hps) also increase the ammount of males:females, whereas lights emiting lots of blue light (mh, cool white cfls) increase the female:male ratio...

I guess the soil might be a bit hot out of the bag. It's canna bio terra plus, I veg under a 400w mh. I have some more seeds going right now, hopefully better results this time. I did have allot of power disruptions when I was veging that may have stressed them out a bit.
