Lions win, Lions win!
Big defensive stand at the end. Fairley owns!
What a way to win a game.

Lions take control of the north!

Dont get ahead of yourself, theres a 90% chance the lions will screw this up over the next 7 games.
They played well though, Suh and Fairley are formidable up the middle.
i think they still need one of their other receivers to step up and become a consistent playmaker opposite megatron in order to be a real threat in the playoffs, but they have the inside track on the North for now.

Well, I went 1 for 3 this weekend. Pitt, like Chicago, rediscovered its defense and beat the spread. Chicago lost by 2 in a pickem game. Carolina did come through in San Fran. Carolina looks to be a wild card team, not sure if they have enough on offense to be more than one and done. Glad I started Foles over Kaepernick this weekend, CK is putting up some ugly stats against good defenses. I think he'll be all right for the playoffs, he will elevate his game and crabtree will be back, but so far he's not the top 5 qb that some thought he'd be, myself included at least after that 1st game.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one to play Foles...RG had a pretty good game fantasy-wise and so did Garcon, but I sat them both. I knew Foles wasn't going to throw 7 again, but I figured he'd start to settle in after blowing those two previous games.

9ers had no answer for that Carolina defensive front. They stacked the box and the whole game just reminded me of what Seattle did to us in week 2. Put pressure on the QB and make sure nobody in Kap's field of vision is open.

If anything, this is what Kap has to work on, imho. He's not looking beyond his first receiver (boldin, usually) and now with Davis getting concussed, there goes one of your main targets.

Crabtree is going to have to hit the ground running and we'd better hope nothing happens to Gore in the meantime.

I'd go with Rivers, even though he's cooled off lately. The falcons are having a nightmare year after coming into the season with superbowl aspirations. All of his receivers are hurt and Steven Jackson hasnt done much since coming back from injury. Just really surprising, thought they'd be there with the 'Hawks and 'Niners for NFC supremacy, and the wheels have really fallen off their wagon. Feel bad for Gonzalez, the only reason he came back was one more try at a title and halfway through their season's pretty much shot.

gonna be another great match~up tonight

I'm a fan of neither team but I don't wanna miss a minute of this game, I'm making up a huge pan of baked ziti again and have a couple of friends over, wish I had enough free space to add a few more folk & run some Texas Hold'em.......

That's a nice looking ziti, S4L. Did you post the recipe in the food porn thread?

"I'd like a baked ziti."
"Ok."
"Hold the ziti."

Sometimes the Lions look like the best team in the league, and sometimes the worst, and this is quarter by quarter.

no recipe Booey, but that's a smaller pan than I thought I had, it's a 9X9 & usually I make it in a 9X12 or 9X13 whatever the dimension happens to be.

So the usual 1lb of ziti (or mostaccioli) noodles had to be cut to 3/4 lb. I always use 1lb chopped beef, 1lb of hot italian sausage (that's double of any recipe), 10oz mozzarella, 1/2 tub ricotta cheese (w/1 egg beat into it) & 8oz of shredded parmesan cheese, you need 36-40oz of your moms best spaghetti sauce too.

and so even tho it's only 3/4lb of ziti I kept the ingredients the same as the standard 1lb batch.

make sure you cook the noodles quite al dente or they'll flatten w/the weight of the rest of the ingredients losing a lot of eye appeal (& respect if you do it in an italian household); so now you'll either need to know the rest of the cooking & assembly of the ziti or look up any internet recipe to guide you through.

I've had a stroke & typing a lot is a chore.

I cover mine & bake @ 375F for 50 minutes, then uncover for 10-15 more to color the top, use the broiler if you want to speed that color up but keep an eye so it doesn't burn.

And cut the cooking time if using a casserole dish or glass VisionWare type of pan, that stuff really gets/stays hot, cut that to 30 minutes instead of 50. huge difference between aluminum & glass cookware.

And now after posting about it here I'm gonna nuke a small plate @ 6am.......

Thanks for posting that, looked delish.
Good tips about the glass vs metal pans and chewiness of the noodles.
I will look up the assembly of the dish. I notice you've kind of dolloped the ricotta/egg mixture throughout?
Chopped beef is the same as ground beef?

Thanks S4L.

Anyone see the Saints-Niners game? Just watched a replay of the hit on Brees. He got tackled around the neck. I understand why Niners fans would be upset but defenders cant contact qbs around the neck or head. Manning got his neck injury when he got tackled around the neck and a defender around his legs pulled him the other way, bending him in a way that humans werent meant to bend.
Gotta protect the qb's, the golden boys.

Football just ain't football anymore.

Looks like a clean hit to me and Brees is fine. No worries.

Haha, that's a nice photoshop there, Hemp.
After the Saints handle the reeling Falcons tonite (im tempted to go with the Saints with the points, but this season's so unpredictable, the Falcons could nut up and make a game of it), they have a huge game coming up in Week 13 at Seattle. At stake: home field throughout the playoffs.
