two packs 95% males

What are the odds of getting 22 seeds and 21 males. Started 11 fire alien urkles, and 11 fire alien masters and ended up with one urkle female out of the bunch. I always get 50 50 or better with seeds. Anyone had this happen?

Thats a lot better than having 2 deliveries of beans stolen by customs and not having any females.
Make some fucking seeds just in case they never get another package through customs again!
Consider yourself fortunate!
I would also look over your grow to find anything that could be improved. 21/22 is crazy

take some pics and show them to the breeder direct,if he or she is a half decent person they may send you some more for your trouble ,if not stick the pics on here in the seed company forum, and the new grower section, may stir up some action !

I haven't had so much that problem. There have been a several seed strains where NOTHING germinated....nada, zip, zero. Needless to say, never ordered from them again.

At least with males, you can save the best looking for pollen and wait for a willing female!! ;o)

For years I had great luck getting 80% females but now its more like males then ladies make seeds then its a bit less hard on the wallet

Temperature during early seedling stage can dictate high percentages of males to females. Cooler temps equates to more male to female plants.

Sex is determined by environmental stressors as well as genetics, so as mentioned above look to your own methods first.
I've noticed that plants that experience stress in their early stages have a higher prevalence of males, which makes sense from an evolutionary/survival point of view: many early flowering males means the few females present will be thoroughly pollinated and the species will survive.
Logic!

Have heard two schools of thought, one is that gender is completely genetic the other, it can be influenced by nutrients, soil ph and moisture and even other chemicals. I read about an experiment where they found that seeds germinated in a moisture, nitrogen rich acidic soil under blue lighting were more likely to be female by a much greater percentage. I read from another source that germinating the seeds with banana peels close to them gave over 90% females. I never tried the banana trick but the optimal lighting combined with nitrogen rich slightly soggy and acidic soil seemed to push the ratio beyond 50/50.

I once poped 30 Chimera Aurora and got 29 males and 1 female.

I also poped a pack of DJ Short Blueberry and got 8 males, 1 hermi and 1 female.
The female was really good though.
