Update on clones + hot5 tent

Clones

New leafs are beginning to pop. I took several root shots to show how fast they are growing as well as how much wider due to now using 3" net pots. Note you can see the river rock inside the net pots + before after trimming

HOT5

The last pic shows how breaking the main stem did not hurt growth above it.

The others to show how much fatter buds are since Wednesday

HOT5

I cleaned/changed rez. With ~ 2-3 weeks left, I am beginning to flush, dropping from ~ 1500 v ~1000ppm

Still waiting to pull the trigger on adding the second Wave Point Coral Wave, which has near blue + far red

LED

Roots are now well established. Clones are fattening up, some new leafs. I pinched the buds on top, at least one is bifurcating

Bought a new tote + a mandrel + 3" hole saw to make 6 net pot bubbler

New Clone Pics

New tote ($5.50) big enough for 6 @ 3" net pots

Clones are beginning to develop very nicely under the 2 ufos

The runt may not make it. I did not have a net pot spot in the other tote, and it suffered a number of insults. Moving it to the new tote this morning, all the roots fell off.

First clone pic was only 2 days ago. I just hooked up new tote 1/2 hour ago

I may well need to raise the plants closer

Thanks for dropping in.

Hope things begin to pick up on IC, been pretty slow the last year

Clones look even better this morning, like super healthy mini palm trees. And since they're girls, no coconuts. :)

We're scheduled of a week of low 70s at night, which should help their mothers fatten up

Last week I swapped out a Q 2900 for another UVL Red Life and the tops started shooting again, so too much red for this stage of the game.

Gettin closer to adding the second Coral Wave

Hey now

Clone Tent Update

About an hour ago I plugged in 2 LED tubes; 1 20w NW/5000k closet to the ufos/plants + one led tube 18w WW

I wasn't expecting anything, but just looked and the new primary leafs are reaching up

DOH, it well could have been that the ufos were too far away to hit the leaf's sweet spot. Plants would stretch, but not necessarily leafs. I put the ~ 4" shim under the tote

OMG

I should know this, especially after what happened in the led tent with leafs reaching up...

Late yesterday, I pulled 1/3 UVL Red Lifes and one Q Grow (pos #1 so, the far outside of the fixture), replaced with a Q flower (pos #1) and Coral Wave.

Damn, ~ one hour later leafs are reaching up. This morning, buds are much fatter

Update.

Clones

Fresh nutes ~ 350

I used wire wrap to pull the ufo face angles closer to better aim at the clones

I have trimmed roots a couple times

I also removed the 4" riser underneath the tote

Clone tops are larger than a soft ball, and as you can see, quite full

Root mass is ~ half as big. Evidence that large roots aren't the be all end all, as well as the postulate that you should not trim roots

HOT5

Just rolling along. Since changing some reds for more blue tubes, buds are fattening up - getting rounder

Will lower light time by ~ one hour + further dilute nutes ~ 500

It appears that the bud tips nearest the hot5 are still growing, so I'm thinking too much blue from having 2 Coral Waves. These may be best used only a short period each day, but I do not have a separate o/o switch for them. I replaced one with a Quantum Flower and will monitor, as I am otherwise < 10 days from harvest

Edit: I decided that another issue might be nute ppm still too high for this stage, so heavily diluted rez + raised the hot5 panel

Black Friday Update

~ 6 weeks since first pistils

Although all 3 are same F1 pheno, the one on the right has mostly brown pistils, and is closest to harvest

Clone Tent

It's been ~ 7 days since turning on one 4ft 20w led 5000K tube + one 3000K (18w)

Keep in mind only ~ 2ft is actually shining on the plants

Interesting note. The pic that is reddish in color of the bud in Black Friday post is ~ 36" below the light, BUT, it alone is frosty.

Yes the others have trics, but no where near the same percentage
