Those are standard mogul socket ballast bulb. It uses the single end 400v bulbs which are designed for digital use. I dont know if those bulbs can be used on other ballast?. that one is not the DE system. its only offered in 1000w. Those are very nice systems if you're looking for a 600 I would definitely consider them..

OC- fwiw, i found some Gavita 600 DE's for sale on the internet. Google, "gavita 600de" and one should come up on "shop google".
EDIT: I found 1 with the DE in the discription thats aswome. If you get iether setup you cant go wrong. You will be very pleased with the purchase. when I click the link it goes to the 1000 de system. Im not sure if these are out yet. here is the spec sheet from Gavitas wedsite it does not list the 600 de.

The 1000 would be too much for my short ceilings, but the 600 would be the shit.

no I dont think there is right now. I can't actually find one to buy. the one on EBAY is questionable. it says 600 de but Gavitas website does not have a 600 DE listed only the SE is listed. Be careful about these. you will most likely get a SE system.

I did a search on some other random sights and it seems everyone is on the same page, they are good lights just not worth it for everyone, it would be worth it for anyone who is in commercial business where a lot of times you can write off depreciation of equipment.
You can get a lot of great use out of a gavita, as far as performance for the dollar, it doesn't come close to an HID.
