root rot and h202

Yeah^

Also, you need to re-add daily at 1/4 the original dose to maintain desired level of H2O2. Food grade 35% is the best, and the only other thing to consider would be agricultural grade, usually 29%. I wouldn't use anything else. And 2-3 ml/gal is considered preventative maintenance levels for folks with recirculating systems. Curing an outbreak is dicey because you need to be at the edge of killing or really fucking up your plants. But I put 12 ml/gal 35% (stored in the fridge) food grade and it didn't mess them up. However I had chronic issues after many treatments so the treatment was either ineffective or the problem was in my system, so it just came back.

I didn't have root rot and had perfectly healthy RDWC plants until I added 9 mL / Gal of 29% H2O2 in the solution of 24" plants. After an hour the plants were all wilting and the next day everything was dead. Never wanted to use H2O2 again after that.

What grade is 29%?

Food grade is 35% and at 9ml/gl has never even had that effect on a rooted cut or seedling. Either the application of it in RDWC needs to be adjusted by a lot for some reason - maybe when suspended in water it's a better oxidiser than it is in a porous medium - or something else happened in your setup at that time and coincided with you adding h2o2.

It's possible that I needed lower rates in RDWC. Someone close to me swore by H202 at those rates and had nothing to say after all my plants died. The plants were in perfect health and within an hour they were wilted. I bought the H2o2 at the grow shop. Funny thing is now that guy doesn't even use H202 and uses chlorine instead.

Just to tease you guys a little. I cured my root rot no problem:

That is what my roots looked like and my plants were about to die. I tried everything to fix them including H2O2 and then I thought of something very different and made a solution and treatment method of specific things and tried it out and after 9 days my roots looked like this:

Pretty crazy huh? Anyway, I have many reasons why I would never release this information to the public but I just wanted to tease some of you. I know, I'm such a dick!

The chemicals that it took to fix these roots are too dangerous for me to give to the public. Sorry but it can hurt people and I can't promote those chemicals. It's not just the chemicals that were used but also the method schedule which they are applied.

Why even mention it then?

Have heard of growers trimming off the rotten roots, then doing a H202 soak + grow room disinfection. Tap water from wells can have the rot bacteria so make sure to always use healthy water.

the bikers from chilliwack bc, who dialed the krusty bucket like no other

their method was just before flower, they fully chop all the roots. they say you save the clogging and that its like pruning grow canopy tips.

they also said that it makes more lateral rooting (like torrping) and prevented root rot. becuase let roots = less chance of rot

remember roots are very sensitve to salt as well. so a lot of rot is caused by salt toxiticity, roots suffocating, then rot kicking in. so watch carefull your ppm as well
