I have a 6" clip on in there but not blowing on them ... its pointed at the lights so the air isn't directly blowing on them ..... but it gets real hot in there without it .
this happens when i try to root them in the cups of coco .... after about the 3rd day , they wilt & die off . only a couple here & ther , not all . I'll try the dome again .... but it hasn't worked for me yet .... i dunno why . i gotta be doing something wrong when it comes to the dome .

dan I used to put a pan of water on my heater when humidity was low. Used the same heater as you.
my heater is in a totally different room G .... its in the flower room only . the heat from my veg lights is whats heating the veg room part of the attic .

Morning everyone! Just got back from Vegas last night and the Romulan Diesels looks great as ever. They are getting suuuuper bushy and i just flipped them last night.

picture.php

How long do you guys typically wait in flower to clean up the bottom larfy branches? These things will fill the screen in the next 10 days, but i think im going to have alot of stuff shaded by how bushy it is.....thoughts?

Outcast, in regards to those plastic trellis i know what ya mean. i ended up finding the end and hold it down with some rocks and just untangled it from there. patience needed for sure, but about5 minutes later i had it stretched out fine! If ya let it sit stretched out for a bit it maintains its shape and doesnt roll back up!

I use a little humidifier dan. i have to refill it everyday but it keeps it at 50-60% as opposed to 40%. So its worth it to run it i think. Id probably be ok without it, but it helps with cloning i think.

got a link or a pic of it ??? when i think humidifiers i think of the old plastic ones my mom used when we were kids when we were sick . they are to big . need something smaller to fit on the shelf .

rooting them that way you need to spray them daily until the cuts take root...with that method the dome needs to have condensation on the inside all the time...and too much light is only going to slow things down...

I ve messed around with these tanks a bit. Its not my favorite way to smoke oil, but it works. And it'd be great for being discrete and practical.
You just heat some water up in a pot, stick a shot glass in the hot water, put some oil in the shot glass, add a couple drops of propylene glycol, stir for 10 minutes. Trying to keep the oil/pg mixture warm, but not warm enough to start cooking off. Then, as quickly as possible, using a needless syringe, suck up the mixture and inject into your carts.
Voila. If you do it like i said it wont separate. ever.

And again, its prolly my least favorite way of using oil. But then again, i havent messed around with it much, im sure the potential is great. Especially for using discretely on the go.

I got the PG at Tractor supply. The smallest size was 1 gal for $20. Ive only used less than 1/4 tsp, so 1 gal is a way bigger size then ill ever need, but whatever.

thats the same style Cart (as you call it ) that came with my set . but i'll stick to the glass globe & coil ..... it works like i want & theres no waste at all . i can see the potential for ALOT of waste with that style .

just water...
here the thing to keep in mind about making cuttings,if you give them too much input (light, nutes) then they will try to grow rather than make roots. if they are only getting very little light and have water present than the plant will naturally seek out nutrients by making roots, and since they are in a low light situation they arent trying to grow and root at the same time so the cutting can put its resources into making roots...too much light and they use up their resources and poof, dead just like that...

My camera battery is dead and im not link savy, but its a Honeywell cool mist humidifier. kinda like the ones in G's link. i got it at lowes for like $25. The only problem with it is the filters seem to go fast. After a couple weeks of use, the filters will start needing to be flipped daily. And after a couple months you gotta just replace it with a new one. They're about $9.

iF i were you id try the pot of water on the heater thing first, to see if that works.
But the humidifier i have does work decently if you decide on going that route.

And about the oil/PG cartridges thing. Yeah i definitely wouldnt suggest that unless smoking on the go was improtant to you. theres much better ways to smoke oil imo.

i never let them get bone dry .... when the tops of the cup get tan but still have some weight to them ... i'll give them some more RO water .... should i be using Tap maybe ? but its 290 ppm

I got away from the aerocloner cuz the water was to cold & even a heat mat wasn't enough to bring the temps up to where i need them .

I gotta get out of this freakin attic !!!!

Not sure how much humidity you're looking to add dans, but pond foggers are excellent for the job. Better'n a whole-house humidifier!

The nice thing is that you can rig this thing up to whatever size rez you'd like. (That's the challenge I've found with normal "I have a cold" humidifiers -- the rez drains s'damned fast it quickly becomes impractical)

Basically, just rig a "top bucket" with a bulkhead at wherever the ideal level for the fogger is. (Usually about 1-2"). That "top bucket," in which the fogger sits, drains into a lower, larger (whatever size you want) rez, which pumps back into the top rez, ..

I ran a five-disc fogger (on a 26 gal rez :D ), in a small 3' x 3' tent, and it literally raised the humidity to where I had water dripping off the plants.

..which is where this comes in handy:

:dunno: Might be more'n ya need, but for anyone trying to increase their RH, the combo of a fogger + big rez + humidistat is tits. :D

Thanx silver !!! that looks like a good idea for a big room , like tent or my 4 x 4 veg room . but my seed/cloning cabinet is real small ... its 2' deep x 4' long x 3' high .
i'd never get a 2 bucket system in there .

I had the same challenge in my tent :) If all else fails, you can place the rig outside the tent, and vent it into the tent with some 3" PVC or something. gettogro had a slick getup like that - I think it was a shallow pan atop a 27 gal toughtote, with a fan blowing into the shallow pan, which was ducted into the tent..

Just thoughts. :)

Edit: Thinking out aloud here, I'm thinking you could build a similar rig for placement IN the tent, that would have the same footprint as an "I have the sniffles" humidifier? Maybe with a small desk/office trash can as the big rez?

Anyway - best of luck! I've found that a practical solution (read: one that fits and doesn't require daily topping off) for RH can be a pain in the ass. :)

Not sure exactly what you mean - do you mean rig a sort of auto topoff for a drug store humidifier? I've heard from some folks who've tried, only to render the humidifier useless. :dunno:

I'd like to hear more about what you're imagining here..? But it's funny you mention that - when I had this setup, I had my blumats feeding out of the top pan where the fogger sat. :)

3rd .... while i've got ya here .....what EC are you feeding small veg . my seedlings look hungry at 500tds 1.0 EC ..... kind of afraid to push them much more .... but it seems they're askin for it :)

they get 2 ml of A & B , 5ml of rhizo , 4 ml of MagiCal & 3ml of protekt ... it comes out to 480 to 500 tds & i'm betting more than half the EC is calmag .... should i bump the A & B to 4ml ???
& sense i unhooked the DI filters my RO is at 70tds & the plants seem to like it more than the 0 water . less of a Mag def for sure .
