LOL @ momerath...

Looks like the filter after winterizing is what I thought. Is there any good stuff in there or just wax? Doest it hurt the lungs to dab that? Id be scared to try it... Momerath, you go first. :p

Hy fellas!!, i don´t wont to get the wax out it´s tasty and it´s soft. In me opinion some time i get better concentrate (flavor and smell )when i keep the wax. It just wax is in the plant and you get terpens, flavors and more in the wax. For me is no only the potency i tried to get nice flavors and i like that one like that.

PD: i have i dab keeping for you FatherEarth.

Just giving you a hard time daber ;)

I am sure its chock full of flavor. I just encourage people to make shatter, for best terpene retention. Wax has exponentially more surface area for terpenes to evaporate from, and therefor degrades exponentially faster. I've got 6 month old shatter that has more flavor left in it than 2 month old wax, and I mean like a LOT more flavor. The wax sheds terps like a madman and is just less enjoyable to vape IMO.

Winterizing does kill some of the terps, but for something that has that much wax in it, would almost be necessary in order for me to dab (or even want to dab) it. Winterized oil is just sooooo smooothe :)

I was thinking from my observations that the wax held onto more terpenes..however I can see how the form of shatter could potentially trap terpenes and prevent them from escaping/degrading easily, and the wax would certainly be able to shed them more readily due to its soft nature. I noticed when winterizing that the wax left behind smells wonderful like the plant and the oil resulting from winterization was kinda bland lacking the original smell of the herb. With wax certainly smelling and tasting terrific I thought this was the reason for its high demand... I dont care for the waxy coating it leave in my mouth or the horse hoof to the chest it gives... wish we could concentrate just the terpenes and sprinkle it on whatever....

Yea Dabber just poking some fun ;) Thanks for sharing.

Got any pictures of this plant?

Yes I´m with you. It´s true that Shatter is more stable. I did this concentrate with 5 days dried plant, and i did all the proces in ambient temperature. I did´nt heat nothing. The filter that i used was a coffe clorin free filter. I purged i a vacum sistem with 9CFM for hours until i see is any solvent left. Is so tasty and smelly, this strain is a Libano strain cross with Pakistan strain.
The next time i will use a smaller filter to take less wax but i don´t want to mix with etanol and winterized, in me opinion i will get a cleaner concentrate but worst flavor and smmell. For me is no posible to do the winterized just with de gas so...

Saludos y verdes venenos!!
