we had a taxi driver working w/us back in NY, big Al and he could tell some long ass stories. One night we were all booking out (end of shift) just as Al was winding up to tell us a tale when I interrupted with,

"if big Al was in a forest telling a story and nobody was......."

that's as far as I got before every driver in the joint simultaneously burst into laughter, everyone of course except big Al who sulked out the drivers shack tail between his legs.


Here's how I got the whole drivers shack to go absolutely SILENT all at once one night, again 1/2 the shift (7-9 guys/gals) were booking out. Someone asks "what's today's date?" to which another replies "April 15th." and without missing a beat I added "Oh yeah! what do we do about paying taxes around here?"

I was new @ that place but knew NOBODY paid taxes on their cash earnings, I had wide open eyes (& mouths) staring @ me from everyone, it was priceless.
