Terpenation at Terpene Station

Yeah, 3cfm just won't cut it. I wasnt a believer in bigger until I saw the results.

Those mays would probably work well, but I use to use cut to size reptile heating mats. You'll see a big difference with an oven

@icdog - I was not sure about burping either so I used dry ice to chill the tank way under the BP of butane and let everything in there out. Turns out with no propane in the tank the pressure is kind of low.

@Mr Durden - with the bigger pumps were the results you saw just a faster vacuum or being able to achieve deeper vac?

With dry ice, it doesn't hurt to have the propane. Running ntane, it takes me about a minute to run a cycle

Deeper. The way they explain it, a 3cfm pump should pull just as deep as a bigger pump, but in reality it doesn't work that way. Or maybe it will but it takes Way longer. That is why you see the bigger oil makers using much bigger pumps. We bought an Edwards 20 cfm pump from Norcal oilman, but he didn't make it to the secret cup down here :-( supposedly it cuts down on purge time quite a bit.

forgot to mention that using a sight glass while running dry ice has been problem free. i froze the sight glass beforehand and also installed it at room temperature... no issues.

I just inspected my sight glass last week and there is a fcking crack near where it makes contact with the gaskets. I did not check it thoroughly when I got it so I don't know if it was caused by thermal expansion. Ah well, lesson learned -_-

that sucks :( never hurts to examine gaskets, seals, connection points, etc.

i do know that borosilicate glass has a very low coefficient for thermal expansion... stolen from wikipedia :)

Or quieter! I don't see how it could be faster, as it draws
85% less current than the appion, but one could hope...

so if any of you are doing more than a couple tubes a day, I highly recommend upgrading to a 2.5lb system. omg, so much of a time saver!

well, I need one for nug runs, but I could do that. I'm building a second 2.5 and welding in a 1.5" sight glass to the top lid since i can be -15 on my gauge but still have 8" of butane still in the bottom.

LOL omg one 2.5lb not enough?!?! O_O I'm guessing with the 2.5lb you are not doing column flood/drains but just single pass?

Btw I received the emerson take-apart filter. God this thing is a BEAST. I love it. Thanks for the tip.
