5500k leds affect on veg/flowering ??

Ok so hi I'm jake. My very first grow has turned into a monster crop for sure. I'm currently 2 weeks into flowering. Pistils just starting. I'm currently running a 1000 watt air cooled hps on a mover but wanted to add some extra wattage for more chunk..

I added a 400 hps and a few floros for side lighting but more light equals more bud I believe so I wanna incorporate some led stuff that I have from being an electrician throughout the years.

I also have some extra 100 watt leds and led floro tubes that are 5500k but the first time around I couldn't get anything to grow under them. Kept yellowing or burning. The light was intense for the wattage though.

So if I added some leds that were 5500k would the plants benefit from it during flowering ????

"but more light equals more bud I believe"

not necessarily true.. at all. depends on grows skill / plant manipulation / watering - fertilization techniques / pot sizes / genetics ........

it's why you see some hit over 1 gram a watt, while some never hit .6 gram a watt...

onto led, as I have more experience then most.. no I would not use that color to flower. I suggest you pick up some 3000k or 2700k , and if you are picking up, I suggest a high color render index, they have more red in them, a little higher blue, but not like the 5500k led's...

I'll have to test out the 5500k leds when the flowering room clears. Hate to waste good technology.
