Bean Stocking

Getting all my ducks in a row to start growing. I've been out of the industry for many years and with the change of laws and the progression of the industry I a getting back in. Lots have changed over the years, used to grow mainly out doors, but that is no longer an options so my grows will be indoors.
I have been reading on this forum for some time now, asking questions, picking members brains and have got a lot of great feedback, and I would like to thank all of you for your input.
Beans are a concern to me. If you don't have good strain base to build on then its without cause. There are some many Strains to choose from and so many breeds. Hell 30 years ago when I was in my 20's due to where I lived and what we had in the area we were limited to our choices. I was growing the hell out of some Shunk don't know what strain it was or anything like that, just know it was potent and everybody was wanting it. The man got hot on everybody it seemed so I shut everything down, 30 years later I am getting back into the industry.
Getting ready to drop about 3 grand on some beans, will probably order from Attitude Seeds because I heard a lot of good things about them. Here is a list of the strains I am planning on getting, and would like some of you comments on these strains if possible. I live in Kentucky and I must say the choices of Cannabis we have around here is shit, however that won't always be the case once I get started. I am getting a larger variety so I can have a few different avenues to follow if I want.

I would appreciate all the input form you guys.

Thanks Boeselager!!!!!!!!!!!

Sup Boeselager....

Looks like you have done some homework on your selections...

You seem to have just about every type of high and bag appeal strain you could want...
Seems like a lot of beans to start off with though...

I mean unless your going to be able to grow out 300 plants in a very large space or hit 2 beans of each strain.... Your going to end up sitting on $$$ packs for a couple years waiting to get to them....

You might try to narrow down what you want to be known for ( Locally ) and chase the strains that can give you what you want...

Do you want Old school highs/Couch lock/complex sativas...
Ya after Bag appeal ...Going for straight yield... lol
You seem to have it all covered with this list...

Just 2 cent and all the power to you....:ying:

id literally scrap most of those. most of them are old dutch companies which went down the pan already. if I sapent a grand on seeds it would probs be on og rascal, rare dankness, sincity.. along those lines.. or just spend the money on so kick ass clones.

What Alien Dawg said.

If I had 3k to buy seeds... I wouldn't focus so much on "classic" dutch genetics, I'd try and vary my choices as much as possible. I see you chose some of Ace seeds though.. :)
DJ Short, Chimera, Mosca Negra
Cannabiogen (to complement your Ace selection)
Are some seedbanks that come to my mind :) depending on what you're looking for I'd also try more obscure genetics, underrated seedbanks, etc.

In the search for beans I have found so many strains out there, Original seeds, Fems, Hybrids, etc... May thought process is proactive, if I get original beans I know what I have, then I can build from there and pretty much go down whichever road I chose in my grow process. Scouring through the forums and so forth seems like the original seed may soon be a thing of the past with Clones and Fems are predominant in the bean industry. Having a wide selection like this if I choose to grow clones, fems or whatever I will have plenty of options don't you all think? Having great strains and being able to actually grow them to there maximum potential will be the best way to build you business up, and if you have great product you will have a good clients base.
Finding a reputable Seed bank to purchase from has been exhaustive to say the least. Reading on the forums with members saying , don't buy here don't buy there, watch out for this watch out for that, its really hard to figure out what to believe. Like the rest of you I don't want to spend an ass load of money on beans only to have them confiscated. When I order I will split this up into several orders. What do you all think of Attitude Seeds? I have read a lot of good posts on them. I really appreciate all the input from everyone of you. AD has been so helpful, he really knows what he is talking about. Its people like him that really make a difference in the industry.
Plans are to open a grow facility, and possibly a Clinic whichever the law here in Kentucky mandates once it is passed. I am figuring that with this selection of beans I will be able to plan my strategy accordingly, I will know that they are proven strains and if I need to make clones, Fems, do some crossing and so forth I will have that option. Does all this sound feasible to you all. I am open to suggestions?

I honestly wouldn't bother with most of those breeders that you've chosen.

Have a look through our very own forums for an idea of who you should be spending money with.

Ace, BOG, Cannabiogen, Cannaventure, Chinera, Connoisseur, Fractal, Gage Green, GDP, HOL, OG Raskal, Rare Dankness, Mosca Negra, True

And the private breeders are bringing fire for 1/2 the cost of the big names!

Devil Weed, Ganja Rebel, Stank Bros, Verdant Green just to name a few.

Your $3k would go waaay further and give you better results just by going for better breeders.

No need to take my word for it, but the writing is on the wall ;)

Many of those names sound great but their modern reputations are bad. Scrap the G13xHaze from Barney - rhey will call anything anything to sell a seed. The ak-47, white russian, and a couple of the other old names have lost whatever made the original seed batches goodd. Follow it a step back to whatever those guys used as the building blocks in the 70s. Ace and CBG both carry some wilder old school stuff.

Man, the guys are right. I was on the dutch train too because my last grows were in the 90s and i would hadve loved to get back that icecream pheno of Silver Pearl i had back then. So the story went like this: 2011Dutch Passion Blueberry so lala...2011 Serious Seeds Bubblegum nothing to bother with...2011 Soma Seeds NYCD nothing special...2012 Sensi Seeds Fruity Juice and Early Girl absolute crap!!! You csn read my experiences in some of my posts. Give the new breeders a chance like the guys said. They are motivated and on the forefront of the movement. Sensi Seeds are a travel agency by now if you look into it. They don't produce themselves but let produce in spain by nobody knows whoever fucks up their gear.

Like a few others in here I'd say scrap most of those seeds you have listed.
The market has changed drastically in the last 30 years and most of those strains have been reworked from the days of old so are not the same as you remember. If I were to suggest breeders to look through I'd #1 avoid most of the Dutch companies and #2 look toward the west, Cali and Colo for some of the best to be offered.
Honestly, you should be able to get a pretty good start by narrowing down your list to 4-8 strains and purchasing multiple pack in order to explore the variability within a few given strains. Choose parents and make your own lines to work with. It's addictive, unlike consumption of said products. ;D

X 2

50 seeds x 2 strains > 10 seeds x 10 strains

For $3K you could drive to Colorado or Cali and pick up all the clone only strains you want and drive home with them. Beats the hell out of trying to find a winner out of most of the strains you have listed, especially as it sounds like you want to have brand-name bag appeal in the product.

Like everyone else has said, a couple of years ago I spent big bucks on seeds from the old time famous Dutch breeders and got nothing but hermis and sativas from what were supposed to be indicas, but I've had great luck with some of the new, smaller guys that are still trying to earn a reputation rather than coast off of theirs.

My stepfather finally lost his battle with Cancer in December. He was the main reason I got re-interested in the industry again. Great man to say the least! Had some Rick Simpson oil sent back here to see if that would help but by that time he was too far gone. My mom gave ther rest of it to someone else who is batling the disease. With all the suffering he went through, he is now better off.

Since I last posted on this topic I took in some of the suggestions. I took a road trip the first week in Novenmber 2013 out to Oregon then to Middle Cali, I stayed with some Army buddies that I have stayed in contact with since we were in our 20's. Man I tell you the West Coast has it going on! Cali has got to be the Cannabis Meca of the world. I was totally blown away. Visited several Grow Ops, Clinics, tested a lot of great product:) in each state and I must say we are deprived here in the Bluegrass State. The West coast is at least ten years ahead of us out here. I can assure you that won't always be the case however. Made some great contact while on the trip. Networking I have found is the key! My contacts in Oregon has been really great to me, one of them sent me a care package with a ounce of everything they grow. The first thing I smoke out there was Wonderland, I was high for 6 hours, but keep in mind I had been used to smoking the shit we have locally and like I said it is shit compared to what yall have on the West Coast.

Headband 707
Pine Apple Express
Big Bud
Alpha Bitch
Blackberry Kush
G-13
Wonderland
Cinex

I've been high every since, just a smilin:)!!!!!!!!!!!! I must say I am definitely a Sativa man myself. All in all it was a great trip and plan on going back this Summer, in both places I visited the people were great and answered all of my questions, very helpful especially the guys in Cali.

Guys I really appreciate all the input here, I have since ordered some beans from Attitude Seeds which I must say they have been great, I have received my orders with know issue at all. So far I have odered and recieved the following

Durban Poison Dutch Passion
Ed Rosenthal Super Bud Sensi Seed
Silver Haze Sensi Seed
Jack Herer Sensi Seed
Afghani # 1 Sensi Seed
Northern Lights Sensi Seed
Old timer Haze Ace Seeds
Sativa Loco Cannafornia Seeds
Border Haze Cannafornia Seeds
Alaskan TK Cannafornia Seeds
Golden ATF Cannafornia Seeds

I just hope that when I start germinating the beans turn out to be what they say. I plan on ordering a few more from Ace Seeds, Cannabiogen, Rare Dankness, Chinera, and Gage Green. Already odered some gear from Seedbay offered by Cannaforina Seeds and am considering some of the gear off the site yall suggested. Plan on running some Fems as well when I get statred. Still open to any input guys, all that is offered up, has been great info. Who are some of the Cali beans suppliers that have the best genetics? and are they offered on Seedbay or elsewhere? Just wondering, like I said everyone who offeres beans say they are the best.

Even as we speak Kentucky is considering Medicial Cannabis Legislation, might know something by the end of the month. The movement is inevitalble, so they may as well get on board, keeping my fingers crossed.

Once again thanks to all of you for your help, and feel free to reply and PM me. Special thanks to AD, he has been awesome.
