This is just a heads up that I have been working directly with Von to get a resource set up by which contributions may be made to his legal defense fund. We wish to offer the options to send money electronically and by mail.

We have been trying to utilize the least expensive format. We hope to have something up and running within a week or so. A separate bank account must be opened and electronically certified and an internet page established.

Thanks again gang for the well wishes.........as time goes by the realization sinks that we are in for a long and expensive battle for our free right to treat our aliments as we choose and for the freedom to grow a plant god gave us just for that purpose. For years Von spent every waking moment studying organic growing and all that goes with it. Now he will learn to fight for his freedom and the freedom for all in this part of the country. Maybe we can drag this out long enough for the feds to decriminalize.. let us pray for that day............humans getting this kind of treatment for growing a plant is in itself a crime against all humanity.

My thoughts are with von, it might pay to have your bro seek medical attention regarding cannabis while in custody, this may be "difficult" in some states, he has human rights, it may also set aside some time for him to think about a defence. It is a shit situation.

I will happily contribute to a fund to help, however there is a witness to deal with and a hell of a story to write to convince a jury that it was for personal use and non profit.

That 5 th amendment seems feasible.

I've gotta say that this was not a large number of plants, in my opinion/experience. Usually wild grown plants like that do not produce much unless cared for regularly.

In So Cali, my attorney told me to budget at least $30k "for the cost of freedom" (bail, pretrial, consultants, expert witnesses, litigation costs, etc).

This right here is what I have been talking about, you grow large scale you need to set some money aside for if things like this happen see my post earlier in the thread... Cover your ass people when growing that much herb... Wishing Von the best of luck...

so unless you have 30k you shouldn't start a large scale grow to try and better your situation? life is ups and down, sometimes you take a risk and hope for the best, normally when you do, it's cause you need to. so yeah, had he harvested as planned he might well have been able to put something by for a rainy, day, maybe he has and it's not enough? or maybe he was just caught flat footed.

I think gaius has hit the nail on the head here. Flatfooted says it best. The money von had saved from working was taken from him. He had to start from behind the 8 ball now with the DOR taking all his money from working and material possessions ad well.

First of all microbeman, don't trust any lawyer that told you ass waddle like that, 30 k is peanuts, you will get a monky ass lawyer for than measly amount, it will be long and drawn out and you will be sucked dry.

It don't matter about monies when it's illegal, in a legal environment the money is to protect you from the Feds.

He needs to plead the 5th in my opinion, without all the facts, the money could be somebody else's and he could have been forced to do it and that is how I would play it. You can't incriminate yourself! Without saying anything they can't have anything!

Did I say you must have 30k no I did not. I am saying that it is good to have a back up plan... You can do whatever you want... It is only illegal if you get caught...
