Can you cook butter too long

Undecarbed meds + water + butter and low temps (crockpot on low)

How many hours is too many?

Or is it entirely up to how dry (naturally decarbed) the meds are to begin with.

Even decarbing...seems a bit tricky...fresh vs dry buds....

Fresh will have to get up to at least 225F to decarb, so a boil won't even be quite there. So low is fine.

I am making my first batch right now as I type. I used 8 cups water, 1lb of butter and about 1.5 oz of trim/leaf and CBD buds.

Some crocks, have Warm,Low and High. I put everything in for about 1-2 hours on LOW, stirring every 10 mins or so. Then dropped to Warm.

Photos are about 7 hours in, the butter is starting to get a nice creamy consistent color and the butter smell, rather than green is starting to predominate.

I also took a small sample and put in the fridge to see how it separates. I think overall I am going to go 10 hours and then strain, just to let the butter have a chance at extracting every last molecule it can..:ying:
